I went to the Urgent Care and was seen by Dr. J Johnson. The only other staff she had working that night was the office cleaning person. I arrived at approx. 8:20pm, there was one person in the waiting room ahead of me but it took until 11:30 for the Dr. to finish seeing me. Dr. J is very disorganized and scattered. She was bouncing all over the place like a child with ADD or ADHD. Her thinking was very disorganized and all she could talk about were all of her unhappy patients, people that were sueing her and others that were filing complaints. I should have listened to my gut and left before she could touch me. She put a suture in my cut finger, something I did not realize she should NOT have done because I had cut it 2 days prior. After talking to the trauma surgeons where I work I learned that the standard of care is to NEVER suture something after 24 hours. She gave me an anitbiotic and told me to start taking it IF my finger got infected. Of course it did, because you never suture something after 24 hours. And boy did that hurt. She asked me how much my co-pay was and I told her $10 ( I have 2 insurances, BB/BS and Health Plus). She had me sign the slip for the credit card payment of $10. After a couple of days I noticed she billed my credit card for over $430. Not once, but TWICE! My husband has been trying to call her office but the phone has been disconnected. I am reporting her to the board. I am sure she can be nice, but the point is she is not consistent, she is nice sometimes, mean sometimes, and very scattered most of the time. I am a RN/BSN and I truly beleive she should not be practicing at this point in time. She is a danger to her patients. Anyone who reads this and still goes to her is taking their lives in their own hands, you can't say you weren't warned. When someone can't keep office help there is usually a good reason why.
