Well, the previous scathing review sure doesn't match the Jitters I know...the service has always been fine upon my many visits here, although I do think I know the older lady the reviewer was referring to, and she's certainly not overly-friendly, but I find her kind of funny in a quirky way! The coffee and baked goods are yummy, and the soups have always been very tasty, too. Don't be afraid of the scary counter lady!
Fantastic, old-school drive-in restaurant with fantastic home-made rootbeer, perfect crispy french fries and good dogs, burgers & bbq sandwiches. Only open in summer - there are also a bunch of picnic tables at which the carhops will wait on you. A Joliet landmark!
This place is a true, genuine, old-school greasy spoon! If you're looking for fancy, don't go...but if you want a loud, crowded, hustle & bustle diner, this is your place. The servers are no-nonsense, but friendly. The turkey club is one of the best I've had!
Wow...the reviewer who gave 1* must've been here on a bad day, because this place is delightful! The first time we visited Mrs. T. gave my kids each a beanie baby, and every time we've been there she stops by the table to see how we are. This is a tiny, homey neighborhood joint with home-cooked food like your grandma would make. Today we went for home-made chicken n dumpling soup and had fresh baked chocolate cookies (3 for $1) for dessert. Love this place!
