We have eaten here over the years and it is always top-notch. Recently my husband and I stopped for desert. We sat at the bar. There was a wonderful jazz trio. The vocalist had that wonderful deep sultry voice. She reminded me of Maryann Price from Dan Hick & Hot Licks. We had delicious desert and beverage. The lighting could have been softer. But the price was right because we were there during Happy Hour.
My family has gone here frequently for past 20 years. The food, beers and root beer are really good. We have never been disappointed. I remember when they had specials like 2-for-1 steak night and each night was a different special. The quality has stayed pretty stable despite ownership changes. My husband and sons recently had a great afternoon with the pool tables! SLO Brew (as it will forever be called by locals) is a hometown favorite.
We haven't been in couple years but some of our most memorable meals have been here. The restaurant is clean, wonderful ambiance, calm clientele and delicious food. One year I brought my 3 sons here after the Old Mission Science Fair. Since they already were wearing required ties, it was simple step to put on suit jackets! The waiter was so galant for us and helped make it a special evening for me and my 3 handsome escorts. They are in their 20's now but still remember the evening. Thank you Thai Palace.
We've been going for over 20 years. Perfect relax-and enjoy-a-great-beer kind of place. The food is so-so but I like the garlic fries. I miss the plaques and mugs from before the interior re-do a few years ago. I have yet to complete my card because I keep ordering my favorites. But a special thank you every time the beer list is re-done and the numbers are changed. That's the only way I make progress with the card. My husband and I hope Spike's ever-changing owners don't change the place too much!
My husband and I have eaten in Louisiana and the food was not as good a Bon Temps. I love the collard greens and muffaleta and rice & beans etc. Every meal was fabulous. We have eaten here since the cook was serving up at Live Oak Festival food stand before he had a place. So sad about the fire. I was just sending a visitor over to the place when I heard the news. Hope and pray they can get back up and cooking.
One of my favorite places since they opened. I love the pattsy kline (green chile & cheese) and the betty boop (blt). My husband and sons love the burgers. I always order a chocolate shake as these are made with ice cream and milk. One time I ordered a small shake and did not get the metal container with the 'leftovers'. I was so sad. I now order the large shake and I am very happy! My hips aren't but I am! Wonderful workers and clean facilities. It smells like an old-time snack bar as you come to the restaurant! The one in Lahaina is not as great but still good.
We have been several times. I don't think it is as good as it was several years ago. But we have always had a nice meal and nice evening. There is too much bright lighting. A little pricey for being in its location and low budget decor. The staff is nice. We will definitely go again for a pleasant meal.
Best pizza in town! Our family has ordered Fatte's for about 20 years or whenever it opened. We ordered it for our different group activities. It was one of the first numbers on my contact list on my first cell phone. I could order it for dinner while running around town picking up the kids. Throw together a salad, have ice cold milk and dinner is done! Cheap & delicious. Worked for me...a busy overdone mom!
Our family has eaten here for years. The pizza sauce is very very robust and yummy. We have never been disappointed. It's fast good pizza and easy on the wallet. The kids are now in their 20's and still go to meet up with friends. I always enjoyed the food and customers there. Very friendly.
We used to go all of the time...at least monthly. But we got tired of all of the sports kiddie groups. Too many kids running around loudly inside the place. You can see them running around outside tearing up the landscape & jumping over the walls around the seating area. Great if you're having one too many beers! We loved the garlic chicken pizza and the pastrami sandwiches. New year's day a few years ago, I had salad and became very sick that night (no one else in our group had salad). It took 8 months before I would go back and it was our last visit ever as my husband then became very sick after his meal. We did call health dept. They said 3+ people had to call in for it to be investigated. This was a first for us and we've eaten out a lot for over 30 years all over the country. Go figure.
