My mom is 63 and it helps her for me to set up her dr. appts. She was seen as a new patient in just three days after making her initial appointment with Dr. Toni Hero. Her last doctor was very rude and condescending to her and only took 5 minutes for her appointments. When she went to her old doctor for hip pain, the idiot didn't even do a cat scan to see if anything was wrong with her. I got sick of the old doctors crap and convinced my mom to change primary care doctors. My mom came home from her appointment and just sang this doctor's praises! Due to my mom being a new patient with an injury that might take a little extra time, they scheduled her for right after their lunch break so she'd have more time with Dr. Hero.
When Dr. Hero entered the room, she had a WONDERFUL personality and spent a ton of time with my mom. She talked to my mom in a nice way that made my mom feel like Dr. Hero really cared. Needless to say, Dr. Hero is getting a cat scan for my mom to make sure that there isn't something serious going on. She prescribed pain pills because her pain was at the point where it was a concern that she would fall as she was hobbling around. The last doctor acted like she was a drug addict! Look, I don't think doctors should just blindly dole out pain pills, but my mom literally scared the hell out of me a couple times because the pain made her hobble instead of walk and I was scared she'd fall and hurt herself even worse! That's serious pain in my book!
Dr. Hero was thorough, caring, good sense of humor, and no offense but I think you're crazy if you're looking for a primary care doctor and don't call her right now! Interesting side note: I asked my moms pharmacist if she knew a good doctor and she mentioned that she had Dr. Hero and HIGHLY recommended her to me for my mom. I figure she must know what she's talking about because she's a pharmacist and deals with doctors all day long. My mom is SO glad she has her as a primary care doctor. Dr. Hero is the best!
