Did you ever enter a small store and feel annoyed by the sales clerks who fawned all over you? Well, unless you give the impression that you have oodles of money, this WON'T happen to you at Hermes in Manhasset! I entered the store and waited patiently behind one customer. The sales help chatted blissfully with this customer (at one point 2 others came over to give suggestions and help). After about 10 minutes that included, not only the completion of her purchase and happy banter about the woman's stunning eyelash replacements, the sales woman said to me, "OK, what do you want?" Because I had come into the store knowing exactly the bracelet I wanted for a gift, I immediately pointed it out in the display case. She barked at me that the bracelet was only for small wrists (why this was a problem, I still don't know?) and then acted that my every question about the choices I had was a major nuisance to her. I had only one question, which was, "Aren't there more colors in this particular style?" To which she answered, "It's just after the holidays so there's limited selection!" This was said in a tone that truly suggested that I should be appreciative that I could buy anything and should just stop wasting her time! Stupid me...I purchased a bracelet in a color I had not really wanted and if the gift recipient doesn't like it, she only has 10 days to return it to the store for store credit ONLY! I should have orders this online where there is no disinterested, snarky sales woman, who not only didn't say thank you at the end of my $500 plus purchase, but didn't even deem me worthy of the store's sale news, by requesting my email address. This, after she made a really big deal over telling the customer before me all about it! Guess my eyelashes were just too real & cheap!
