This restaurant is closed. It is now a Chinese buffet of some sort. Although, I ate there once and I still prefer Taco Bell.
I took my Mom out for dinner and we made the mistake of going to Bob Evans. The food didn't really have a good taste to it...like it was heated up in a microwave. The waitress was too loud and overly friendly. When we just wanted to eat, she came over and "chatted" for nearly the entire time. Not happy.
We went on a night that offered a buffet with a ordered steak. There were 3 of us. But instead of getting to sit at a nice booth, we were stuffed into a booth right next to the buffet. You could smell the cigarette smoke coming from the closed room at the end of the salad bar. The entire front dining room was nearly empty. I asked if we could be moved and the lady just walked off. If I spend nearly $40.00 at a eating place again, it won't be Shoneys. The food was okay, just not the experience.
We went because we'd heard it was good. The food was good, but it took so long to get it. The dining room was so crowded and noisy and the cigarette smoke was just so heavy, it actually hung in the air...you could see it. We won't go back because my wife has asthma and she didn't do well inside at all. So I do have to mark this place as unsatisfactory because of the smoke.
The food while not a big Wow, is good. The serving people are very nice for the most part and I love dining at night when they light the oil lamps. The bathrooms could use an update and I hate having to wander through their almost too full country store when I'm on their waiting list for the dining room.
If it weren't for the over crowded dining rooms, this might be a jolly good place to lunch at! The food was basically good. But what I'm wanting to know is why I have to tip a woman who really doesn't do anything...it is a buffet after all.
I was so disappointed by this restaurant. With it being so crowded outside, you figure the food is terrific, right? Wrong! I can't believe that health inspectors allow kids to walk around with pails of open food to different tables. I watched young children cough directly into the pails of food, then I saw one of the waiters pick out a hair from the container of okra! That did it for me, I got up and left!
I took my wife out for our anniversary to Applebee's. We'll never go back! Too expensive for us! And the portions were so small. Plus there was a noisy group to the left of us that refused to be quiet.
Good burgers, but priced kinda high. Limited table space and absolutely no parking spaces! I had to walk quite a distance to get to their establishment and I have bad knees. Half of the cars parked in the handicapped areas didn't have plates or handicapped hangers on them. You'd think the owners would be cking on this.
Snotty kids running the counter. Didn't make my sandwich the way I asked for and still heaped MORE cheese on my soup, when I took them NOT to put cheese on it. Sweet tea was old...Not going back!!!
