I have stayed at the Ellis Motel twice in the last four years (visiting Klamath NWR for the Winter Wings Fest). The motel staff was friendly and accommodating and the rates are about the lowest in town. Here's the reason why:
It is an old motel with linoleum floors and tiny bathroom and tinier shower stall. In the room that I had there is no chair so watching TV one has to sit at the edge of one's bed. Some units have a kitchenette, which is helpful, although the stove is old. Basically the funishings are spartan but clean. My biggest complaint is the lack of a chair.
The motel is just off the highway and screened by trees. It is quiet but that's because there's so little traffic along this stretch of highway in a small town. I agree with another person that this is not a place for extended stay (best for a couple of days at most). If you are a duck hunter you would probably find the place quite acceptable, not too fancy, with linoleum floors.
