My fiancee, a loyal customer for over 5 years of Southeastern Plastic Surgery, was extremely taken advantage of during her recent visit. This office does good work, but they majorly over charge her compared to the other competition for the same services. Her visit ended up costing $330, for a procedure that should have been about $250 and we feel they over charged her by about $75. We called the office to confront them as they gave her a discount card that said if she returns, she will gradually work her way up to a $75 discount, but they refuse to give her any credit from today's treatment even though she has been to them 4-5 times in the past saying that since she hasn't been there in the past year she gets no discount. She would have been in the past year but we didn't have the money. So now she being penalized by them because she wasn't there in the past year? What kind of client loyalty is that? We have already contacted another office and scheduled her next appointment for the exact same procedure for $250 in six months. In short, do your research and save yourself $75 or more for the same services elsewhere.
Provence is a unique local Tallahassee restaurant tucked away in Market Square. The menu consists of gourmet entrees and appetizers that are hard to find in this area. The bread is house made daily and is served with fresh butter and olive tapenade. There is a full bar in the back that has everything from beer to mixed drinks to a host of wines and champagne for special occasions. The food is fresh, their cheeses are local, and the service is friendly and punctual without rushing the patrons. The prices are what one would expect for good food, but it's fairly priced. I've been pleased every time I've been here. We mainly sit in the bar area, where there are tables available, but I've been here with family in the main dining area as well. It's a wonderful place to bring out-of-town guests so they can experience some of the hospitality Tallahassee is known for.
Kitcho is the most unique sushi place in town. Unlike the trendy, cookie-cutter places that are popping up all over town, Kitcho is an established restaurant, using the freshest seafood, and as a cool alternative, has the Velvet Lounge off the bar where patrons can sit on couches in a casual atmosphere, minus the tables. The service is chill and laid back, yet attentive. Sushi and sashimi are prepared with care and presented beautifully. There is also an extensive menu for those who want to order stir fry, bento boxes, soup, salads, or appetizers. Kitcho also boasts a full bar, where people can sit and drink or order food. It's a great Tallahassee staple, in a good location, with ample parking. No complaints here.
Schooner's is one of the last great original Panama City Beach restaurants. It's pretty unique, in that it not only has amazing food (don't miss the crab claws and housemade yeast rolls), but it has regular live entertainment and festivals. The grilled fish and burgers are fresh and prepared perfectly, and they boast an extensive beer and drink menu. You can eat outside or inside, but the whole place is open and airy, so you can come right off the beach and have lunch or dinner. Each evening, the Schooner's cannon "blows" as part of their tradition, bringing attention to the awesome sunset just outside. You will love the atmosphere and attidude of the place. Parking can be a challenge on weekends and during the busy season, but that just tells you that the locals know where to go, and the out-of-towners have gotten the word on Schooner's. Every time I've been here I've left with a full belly and in a good mood. I can't say enough good things about this place.
All American Diner is just what the title implies: a classic place with great food, very reasonable prices, and friendly, "down home" service. Located one block from the beaches, this diner, which has 2 locations, has a full breakfast buffet, plus a large menu where you can order what you like. Service is quick, but there is often a wait, especially during the busy season. That should tell you that the place is great. Another clue is that the diner is a staple among the locals. The diner is great for the whole family; they even have scaled-down buffet prices for the kids according to age. Bring your appetite, because they aren't shy about piling food on your plate!
Mike's beer barn is a great location - in and out right on Tennessee Street - with not only gas, but almost any kind of liquor you can think of, mixers, energy drinks, a great wine selection including chilled wine, awesome beer selection, and drive-up service for kegs. The prices are extremely reasonable, and the staff is helpful and friendly. It's nice to head to Mike's after the gym to get a case of beer for later and grab a Vitamin Water for the road. I've been very impressed with this place for some time, and my friends and I go here at least twice a month. It's great to gas up while you're there too. Highly recommend.
Genghis Grille is a unique way of eating out. Each person gets an empty bowl and is guided to a raw food bar filled with fresh veggies, scallops and other seafood, steak, chicken, and other goodies, and you can fill your bowl as high as you want, along with your choice of seasonings. Your bowl is stir fried with your choice of starch. A server brings each stir fried dish back to your table when everything is cooked. It's not fast food, so don't expect things to have a quick turnaround, but you can have a beer or other drink while you're waiting for your meal to cook. The service is good, but expect a wait on most nights, because Genghis is a popular place. There's always plenty of food (I always end up taking a box home). The only thing I wish they had was appetizers such as wontons. Other than that, it's great to be able to customize your meal to exactly the way you want it. The location is good, the parking is fine, and I've never been disappointed.
Red Elephant has great pizza, but don't miss their other menu items! They have great salads and sandwiches, good lunch specials, and the prices are reasonable. I've never had issues with the service, even during the lunch rush. They have good locations, the place is super clean and organized, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Great place to take the kids too. It's a unique place to go in town...not just your ordinary run-of-the-mill trendy restaurant.
Pineapple Willy's has great service, FAST turnaround after you order, and awesome food! The rib bucket is a must-have..the ribs are falling off the bone! The fried shrimp and grouper baskets are huge and always fresh and crispy. They have great drinks, a large outdoor area (that's covered to keep away the weather and pesky birds), and there is rarely a wait. I have always been pleased with what I've ordered, the friendly staff, and the reasonable prices. You won't find a burger here, but why have a burger when you can have fresh fried or grilled seafood? And don't forget their pineapple slaw! They are very family-friendly with their kid-sized baskets, and they have plenty of nightlife options during the season in their new bar area, complete with a stage, where you can have your favorite drink, some great food, and awesome entertainment. Pineapple Willy's is a must-visit with you are at Panama City Beach.
We love the new 3D movies now available at Regal. It's great to have a choice in 3D theatres. Regal is clean, professional, and in a great location, so now when my family wants to see one of the new movies in 3D, we don't have to go on the other side of town. The prices are competitive, we love the stadium seating, and the theatre itself is clean and professionally maintained. I love how it's near Governor's Square mall and other shopping areas so we can run errands before the movie.
