Oakbridge Academy Of Arts
I AGREE with Rich A. in the first review. Before I went there I was told about him and his success as an artist. Little did I know he withdrew and went to another school because of the fact that JOKEbridge Academy of the Arts doesnt actually have a quality graphic design program and cant help people get a good job because NO ONE has EVER heard of them!
When I attended Oakbridge they gave an anatomy course. I was the only one in it because I had already taken drawing courses at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and had credits for them. When I had the anatomy class I was given a beaten up paperback book with pictures of nude men & women. OK....thats fine, its a reference book but, They had no models, nor would they even get any models in. I also had a photoshop class. I had taken one at AiP 2 years prior. I learned absolutely NOTHING from this course! In fact, I knew certain short cuts and ways to transform selected points on a saved path, that the teachers didnt even know! Thank Art Institute :)
I will say this: There are a few talented teachers there BUT they dont teach enough classes. Im not sure why either! Ms. Eddy was one of favorite people. No bull lady that would tell it how it is! She taught me alot about typrography. I dont know why the program sucks so bad really. I did learn more from my 8th grade art class than i did at OAA. The potential is there but its being stifled.
The day I withdrew, I told the "Dean" Janey, that her school has taught me nothing and that i was very unsatisfied with the quality of the education. I think I missed a month of school before that day. I painted and drew that time, Got things done. Actually did some commissions because I had time, All because I wasnt wasting my time driving out to some hole in the wall school in Lower Burrell(no offense L.B, I was born in Natrona Hts). Go to AiP, or PTI, or Edinboro...of HECK GO TO CCAC! you can get better quality classes for less money!
