My son had his teeth cleaned, he was told he was fine Orthodontist checked x-rays and asked that a couple of shadows be treated before expander placed in roof of mouth for a year. Over the course of 3 more visits, my son had 5 fillings done. I was very surprised that there was all of a sudden a need to do 5 fillings when the cleaning had indicated no problems. I contacted the office and asked for f/u on this. I had to call several times to see what was happening. I requested a call from the Dentist to address my concerns. He did not call. After 2 weeks, his staff called to state that they had over charged us for one filling and they would take care of the bill. For my cleaning, upon learning that I have a pin in my foot from bunion surgery, they insisted I should have been getting antibiotic prophylaxis. I have never used antibiotics for prophylaxis for the pin, placed 20 years ago. My surgeon did not tell me I needed it nor did the 4 dentists I had prior to Dr. Kelly. (According the 2007 AHA guidelines, only those with prior history of endocarditis, heart valve replacement and transplant require prophylaxis.) They kept me in the office an extra half hour while they researched this. I felt like Dr. Kelly was pushing me to get things done that I did not feel were issues. I have history of TMJ but it is not a problem at this time but he insisted that he was an expert in this and could take care of this. I cancelled the app. his office made for me to address this. He also was very short with his staff, demeaning and critical. It felt uncomfortable and awkward. My children, who have not had problems with prior dentists were very reluctant to return to him for the further work needed. I think his ethics are questionable.
