Strouds Fitness

My friend and I signed up together last week. We have only been twice so far ?? however, each of us has worked out at all different kinds of gyms and we both agree that THIS one had an overall feel that no other gym has.

Reasons we picked this gym:
*Not a chain
*People working out seemed serious about their goals and NOT there to pointlessly socialize
*Childcare (FREE BY THE WAY)
*Price (we both signed up for an 18 month membership which came out to be about $19 a month, we paid upfront for the 18 months)
*Camaraderie of the members (people seemed willing to help each other)
*There were people from ALL ages and body types in there
*Not crowded

Background of us: We are single moms that just decided we needed to do something for US! We obviously do not have much money to spend on US ?? it always goes to bills and the kids first. So price was extremely important. Our fitness goals are SERIOUS and we did not want to be at a chain gym where people wouldn??t get to know our name ?? or were trying to get a date. NOT INTERESTED DUDE! We really don??t know what we are doing inside of the gym (as far as a routine goes)?? so we needed to pick a place where we both felt comfortable enough to ask anyone for help.

Well let me just tell you, reader, last night was our first night to hit the gym hard. MY ARMS FEEL LIKE THEY ARE FALLING OFF right now ?? haha. We got there and had no idea where to start. We talked to the guy that was managing the gym for the evening, Tim, and let him know we were new and needed help. He explained the general layout of the gym and told us where to start ?? actually pointed out a few machines to get us started and gave us a quick plan to follow. While we were working out, a personal trainer noticed we didn??t really know what we were doing ?? and offered to help us for the next hour FOR FREE. He showed us so many different things we could do and explained WHY we were doing each workout.

If you are used to a 24 hour fitness or LA fitness ?? this is NOT the place for you. There are many other things I could say but no room in this review. Hope this has helped you make a decision ?
