Day-Lum has handled my Hilo rental properties since 1989. In all this time I have NEVER had a bad tenant. Is this a miracle or just REALLY good management? As an Owner I appreciate Day-Lum's thorough screening of applicants, the on-time payment of rents, the detailed monthly statements, the handling of tradesmen, and the checking in on my tenants to make sure they aren't smoking or sneaking in pets. My Rental Managers protect my investments better than any other rental agency I retain, period!
Day-Lum has been able to optimize my rentals so that I average 30 days vacancy for every 5 years rented.... across every property! That is a phenomenal occupancy rate! Even in recessions, we have stayed full with great tenants who leave the premises spotless.
You may read sour grapes reviews from disgruntled former tenants and to that I say Hurray! I'm glad Day-Lum is doing their job for me and insisting tenants live up to their leases or get out. Day-Lum may be on the receiving end of strife that is more appropriately leveled at the property Owner. Delays in maintenance is a classic problem where Day-Lum has to wait for Owner approval of work orders. It may not be fast enough for tenants, but it is how you have to run a good business.
