I love Trader Joe's as a chain, and the Beaverton store is a good example of them. The staff there are so sweet and helpful, the prices are very good, and it is very well run. My only caveat is that this is one of the smaller stores and I often find that their selection is not all it could be, especially when it comes to the frozen foods.
They are very good for what they are with a reasonable selection given the amount of space they have to work with. Unfortunately I can't afford literally 3x the amount for a quart of milk. Last summer I ran in to buy a couple of potatoes for dinner and was charged over 4 dollars a pound! I wouldn't even pay that at the farmers market! Maybe I am being unrealistic and need to just grow my own potatoes, but the sticker shock keeps me out of Food Front for the most part.
We love Casa Colima! They have great food and terrific service. My husband loves their Arroz con pollo, but everything is tasty. They are a great value as well with huge plates, often we will just split a plate between the two of us. A great neighborhood restaurant!
I can not speak to their training as we only had one class, but the hard sell techniques used greatly upset both my husband and myself. It all started when I called to find out rates, and Steve the owner refused to give me a straight answer insisting we come in for a "free" evaluation. When we did we were caught off guard by Steve's manipulative techniques (opening the door before we knocked or even touched the door, ushering us in and commanding us to sit while he stood over us.) He proceeded to tell us that our dog, distracted by all the doggie smells in the place, didn't respect us at all and would require at least three months of training at 425$ a month but that the third month was free and that he would offer support after that. He then employed a divide and conquer strategy pushing us to stat right away, and shouldn't my husband go get cash from the ATM since we hadn't brought our check book and he doesn't take cards. After we left whirlwind first "class" My husband and I had a chance to talk things over and after coming to the conclusion that we we both feeling uncomfortable and railroaded, we called to cancel and ask for our money back, and were told that was out of the question, if we wanted we could continue with the classes we had already paid for, but that they don't do refunds. In conclusion if you are comfortable paying over 200 dollars an hour and okay with the hard sell go ahead but generally I find them to be sketchy at best.
Marco's is a favorite of both my husband and I. They serve great local cuisine in a fun and funky atmosphere. we particularly like their breakfast selections, which they serve all day. They are a tiny bit pricey, but very delicious!
They are an excellent pet store with a good selection, they have always been very friendly to me and my dog whenever we have been in. They are usually helpful and reasonably priced. I would recommend them.
