The individual who accused REALTORS of complaining because of the difficulty in getting commissions through CPE is likely an employee. I have had several deals with CPE and every one is a nightmare. I hate them. They are overburdened, greedy, and incompetent. They have lied about receiving the #'s among other things. Title work is sloppy. I care about my buyers and sellers and they get the worst possible service, plus the fees are outrageous! Everyone who is connected with the real estate industry and has a complaint must go to the Legislature and let them know that the attorneys who do so many of the foreclosures should not be allowed to own an escrow or title company. Particularly if the properties are over 100 miles away or in another county. No excuse for this type of shoddy business dealing. Local title companies should always be used in any transaction. I could give you lurid details, but so many are familiar with the horror stories. I feel so badly for the buyers in these situations. To use a different title company to close is to double their expenses! Gotta be some change here. Ask your local REALTOR board to work with CAR to eliminate this issue!
