Dr Gettleman makes you feel like a number. He is the final reason my sister and I decided to leave Great Destinations. He spends less than 5 minutes with you and doesnt take the time to properly look into symptoms and give you answers. I took my daughter in for what I thought was a bladder infection. He didnt even take her diaper off to look, said she seemed fine and sent us on our way. Moms, you know when things don't seem right, so I took her to a different office for a 2nd opinion. The other office took the time to do some quick tests and found within 30 minutes that she had a pretty severe infection. The same thing happened with my sister's child when she took her to Dr Gettlemen for a cough she couldnt shake. Doc did a quick once over, said she was fine and sent her on her way. After a 2nd opinion at a 2nd office she was found to have early pneumonia. We used to leave this office with questions in our heads but thinking, they are the doctors, they must know best. All I know now is we are both relieved to not go to this office anymore. We all pay good money for our healthcare and expect to receive good service in return. He is one of those doctors that make you feel like he is doing you a favor by gracing you with his momentary presence.
I was totally shocked to see on this page that this doctor has 14 years of experience. All I can think of is the movie "Catch Me if You Can", where the kid fakes his way into a job and poses as a doctor in in the hospital. Sorry, but this is what I felt like after seeing this doctor, I thought she was brand new in the field due to her inability or unwillingness to answer questions during our appointment.
I recommended this office to my sister when she had her baby and Im so sorry I did! I started with Dr Shepherd and never had any problems. Then she got more difficult to see so I agreed to see Dr Gettleman...yikes! He definitely makes you feel like a number. Its a race to see how many patients they can cram into one day. He always spends less than 5 minutes with you and doesnt listen. I brought my daughter in for what I thought was a bladder infection. I told him her urine smelled odd in addition to other symptoms. Not once did he even take off her diaper to look, he just gave her a once over and said "she looks fine". I took her to a different doctors office and sure enough, she had a pretty severe infection.
My sister could only get into Dr Lombard. This doctor acts like she doesnt know the first thing about being a doctor. Instead of talking to you she hands you pamphlets and things to read, "Here, just read this."...we could do that at home! Then my sis got unlucky enough to see Dr Gettlemen at the last minute, her daughter had a cough she couldnt shake. Same thing, rush in, rush out, "she looks fine". Needless to say she took her daughter to a different doc for a 2nd opinion. This doc took the time to examine her and do a chest xray and sure enough, the poor thing had beginning stages pneumonia.
