This company had a 2003 Kountry Star by Newmar listed on eBay. My husband & I liked what we saw and decided to go to Mason, MI to see this camper before we bid. We really liked this camper. And the Sales Rep. informed us that all used campers go through a through check up before placed on the lot. We decided to buy the camper, but we needed a hitch in the back of our truck. We needed a 18k Signature series Reese hitch, as our truck already had the bars that go on the under side of the bed of the truck. The sales rep, figured out what we owed and included $300. for the hitch. We had the part number and gave it to him. I also asked if he needed to see the bed of the truck to make sure it would fit. He said, "No, it'll fit! So we had to wait till the next day to get it put on as it was late and service had left for the day. So we went to Keith's sister's house close to Reading, MI...almost 100 miles away. We stayed the night. Went the next day and the hitch WOULD NOT FIT!!! I was so upset. Now the sales rep tells us that the one we need, is a lot more expensive. He was going to call around, within, a 100 mile radius to find one. So its back to Sharon's to stay another night. Luckily I had some of my restless leg meds with me, but Keith had nothing. He lived on Tylenol for his pain. Didn't do much!! The sales rep called the next morning said he found one but it was a step up from what we needed so it was a little more expensive. He also said the distributor's truck was just about to leave so he would throw it on and they would have it by noon. Just before noon he called wanted to know if we wanted it, because if they declined it it would go right back to the distributor. We decided to accept and headed to dealer. They took our truck and installed the hitch. Jerry (bubba) was the most knowledgeable and helpful of the bunch. He showed how the hitch worked took us inside to show how the sliders work. And just went the extra mile to make sure everything worked. It was after 4:00 p.m. and we headed home. Keith took a wrong route, but I showed him it would get us home. When we got to route 6, he turned to go to I-75. Shortly after our turn a tire on the right side blew. A very, very nice lady behind us pulled up told us what happened and got on her cell phone to find someone to help. She sat in the truck with me (it was raining) and finally got the Bowling Green police to send someone out. She stayed till we were sure someone was coming. The police Dept. called the Sheriff's Dept. and sent a young trooper. Talk about a nice guy. Wow!!! He found someone to help us and stayed till they got there, which was rather quick as we were at mile marker 18 and they were at mile marked 15. We made it to Marion but were just too tired to go on. Found a Wal-Mart and stayed in their parking lot over night. The tread from the tire that blew, tore the molded fender decor all to pieces and put huge black marks on the camper. When my husband called Mike the sales rep. and told him we were sitting along side of the road and the tread came completely off the tire and there was no spare or jack. All he could say was "I'm sorry!" Well that just wasn't good enough. Honesty is not a virtue with this company. Don't say you have not been warned.
