First let me say that I have adopted 3 dogs from North Shore and have no complaints at all about the adoption process. I have also taken a training class with one of the dogs and was very satisfied.
My problem is with the medical center. I took my dog there for an ear infection. He was given meds and sent home. Two weeks later the infection came back. I returned to the center and the DR. himself told me "oh, he will alwyas have infections. He don'y even need to bring him in. Just call & we will refill meds whenever you want".After another few weeks the infection came back. I had to see a private vet who immediately did a culture to see what was causing the infection. In the month or so that it had fested from poor medical care he had to have his ears cleaned out under anesthesia because they were so bad.
Now, 6 months later I return to North Shore with my other dog for a well exam and booster shots. I see Kathleen Dunn the director of the medical center. Her complete exam consisted of looking at her ear (without any instrument) and a quick listen of the heart. No temp, on look in the mouth or eyes no hands on feel of her body. Will never go there again!
