I've had two North Shore dogs in my life and they were both wonderful. This shelter does amazing work. I am a volunteer at three other less funded non-profit, no kill rescue shelters, as well as at the NYC ACC, and North Shore is always lending out their adoption truck to their events, as well as rescuing dogs at the city kill shelter. In fact, one of my current dogs (I have three), a beautiful Husky/Springer Spaniel mix, was going to be put down at Animal Care & Control for having kennel cough and an ear infection and North Shore rescued him, nursed him back to health in their infirmary for two weeks and then put him out to be adopted. James was on the adoption floor for one hour when we found each other! North Shore called me to follow up on how James was doing in his new home several times. The shelter is clean (if you don't think so, you haven't spent much time in shelters) and the animals have ample space (again, if you don't think so, check out some other shelters- most won't let you see where the animals live, they bring the one you are interested in based on their website out to you). North Shore saves lives and brings light and attention to the animal rescue and adoption cause.
