I had two months to get a wedding dress. Called around everywhere just to be told it wasn't enough time and nobody could help me. I don't live in Waukegan but decided to call Quinceanera's Boutique anyway because if they could help me it would be worth the drive.
I wont get too detailed but these ladies are wonderful. I found a perfect dress from one of their catalogs, they had it ordered and in their shop in a week! I wanted a jacket instead of a shawl (December wedding) so the seamstress literally made one from the shawl that came with the dress. It so beautiful and well done I couldn't even believe it. The alterations were done right away and done perfectly. They're so friendly and worked with me on all the specifics even though we had a bit of a language barrier. The dress was hundreds less than I planned on spending and such a beautiful material that you'd never know it. I will be telling any bride I meet about this place. I truly love it.
They insisted we make an appointment when I first called so I did. When we arrived and I told them my name, they didn't check an appointment book or anything and told us they were closing soon so we had to hurry. What was the point in making an appointment then? Luckily we were only looking for bridesmaids dresses.
The shop doesn't have much of a selection but we were able to find a couple that we liked. They told us they would call the designer to see if they could get them in time for the wedding and give me a call and let me know. After waiting a couple days with no call from them, I called them (keep in mind this is winter and they're not that busy) and they said it was fine and to come in and get everyone measured.
While being measured they had little remarks on how my girls were plus size (anything over a ten is "plus size") and none of the dresses in the store would fit them so they couldn't try them on. So we went blindly into it and just ordered the dresses. Turns out they will charge you an arm and a leg for extra material so if you're too tall or not a size 10 prepare to pay for it.
I called twice to check on the dresses, make sure they would be in on time, and they could alter them in time as well. "Oh of course" they said. 2 weeks before my wedding they call me at 2pm to tell me the dresses were and the seamstress was there THAT DAY and they didn't know when she'd be back (what?!?!) so we all had to come in that day or get it altered elsewhere. Well my bridesmaids work and when you give me 2 hours to rush over because you cant give me the alterations that you GUARANTEED forget it. We took the dresses somewhere else to get them altered.
This place is ridiculously overpriced and you get treated like dirt. My advice is not to go there, or if you do dress real fancy and wear a lot of diamonds so maybe you'll be good enough for their time. I regret nothing more in my whole experience of wedding planning than choosing them. Buyers beware!
