Winston Salem, NC
This company is awesome. Rick is an honest man that will not rip you off. He would rather have you as a life long customer than to get a load of cash from you once. I will only allow Wilson's work on my vehicles. So many times I have received my service bill from him and expected it to be hundreds of dollars more. See for yourself. You wont be disappointed.
I needed tires and Merchants had a great deal. When I arrived, I learned that they had an even better deal on an oil change. My vehicle was taken back to have the tires installed and the oil changed. After approximately 30 minutes I was summoned to my vehicle. (not surprising) I was shown a leaky wheel cylinder, and rear brakes that were close to needing replacing. I was headed out of town that day and didnt feel comfortable driving over 500 miles with a leaking wheel cylinder. It wasnt bad, just slightly we around the rubber boot.
I asked that they only replace the wheel cylinders for now. I was told that in order to insure that I wouldnt have any more trouble with leaking wheel cylinders, I needed to have my brake fluid flushed for a low low price of $60!!!! To have both rear wheel cylinders replaced was gonna be around $350!!!! That didnt even include new brakes.
For that ridiculous price, I declined all repairs. They advised me that my vehicle was NOT safe to drive. They even wrote that on my service bill. High pressure sales tactic. I postponed my trip for a few hours and replaced both wheel cylinders and rear brakes for $56!!!!!!!
My suggestion is that you get a second opinion when this company tells you that your vehicle needs repairs. They employ high pressure sales tactics that will work on some, especially single woman.
Hopefully this review will help someone be prepared for their tactics.
I didnt want to give a bad rating without giving an explanation. I had been needing tires for several weeks, just looking for the right deal. Wilson's Tire Shop had the deal I was looking for, finally. I called on a Tuesday to order the tires and explained that I would be at the shop at 8am the following Friday. I was headed out of town that Friday (500 mile trip), and they were calling for bad weather. Everything was set up and I was told that the tires would be there waiting when I arrived at 8am Friday.
I arrived at 8:15 am on the agreed upon Friday. When I arrived I was told that they forgot to order the tires. I was then asked if I could wait until later that day. That wasn't an option, my departure was pretty much set in stone. Remember I called on Tuesday to arrange this. I was never given a simple apology, or explanation. As a matter of fact, NOTHING was said to me. It was almost as if they couldn't care any less about their mistake.
I understand that things happen, people forget. We are human. It was the "I dont give a crap" attitude toward me that Im having a problem with. I was forced to buy tires from another shop...luckily I had done my homework and I was able to make a purchase that I was satisfied with. My suggestion, buy your tires somewhere else. Your money apparently is appreciated anywhere but here.
