We were excited when we first went to Brummel's. The low pressure approach was great and made shopping easy. We found a couch, love seat, chair and ottoman that we fell in love with, but we weren't ready to buy and told the salesman that we would be back in a month to buy. He was kind enough to write down the prices for us on a sheet of paper he had printed out with a picture of the style of furniture we wanted.
Fast forward to a month later and upon arrival we were told that the prices would not be honored and that we couldn't get the furniture anymore. We asked our salesman to see what he could do and asked for a call back the next day. He called and told us that it would be $200 more for a similar set of furniture and there was nothing he could do. I asked for his manager and he told me to talk with Joe Brummel at the Zeeland location. Needless to say, I have only been subject to that lack of customer service one other time in my life. I was asking Joe to drop $50 from each piece of a replacement/similar product in order to honor his original quote and he refused and told me he wanted me to shop elsewhere. I obliged and bought from his competition in Holland, Vanhill Furniture who were fantastic. Joe told me that if I went to the grocery store and looked at meat it wouldn't be the same price a month later. I told him it would if I had a rain check or a quote, which is what his salesman gave to me. He told me it wasn't the same and since I didn't buy that day he won't honor the pricing. For $200 he was willing to provide horrible customer service that resulted in me telling all friends I have on Facebook, the folks that read these reviews, and anyone else that I can find to never shop there. I hope it was worth it Joe Brummel and I will NEVER use Brummel's for anything and I recommend highly that you don't either.
