We've been going here for a decade.
They a friendly, and serve food that tastes just like other good Chinese restaurants.
They've redecorated and if you sit in to eat, they serve you very well with hot Chinese tea, soothing music, and a sushi bar with an attendant who makes it fresh.
This place is alright. It serves the average Diner quality Italian-American menu.
It's VERY small inside. And it's decorated like a dim, burlesque-Victorian brothel for some reason. I think it was a popular look when the place was the hang-out of Frank Sinatra and some Mafia guys.
That's the only bad thing... how weird it looks inside. And I think there are other Italian restaurants in Hammonton that serve better food too!
I like this place a lot. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to recognize us even though we are not regulars.
The food is good. No, of course it's not gourmet, it's just "no bullsh*t Mexican food." The food's equivalent to a good American Diner... but with a real Mexican atmosphere.
And who doesn't want that comfort food once in a while?
They undeniably have a larger selection with more specialty and fresh items than most of their competitors.
But it's a bit understaffed, and hires apathetic teenagers like all other grocery stores. There are some very nice people here, however!
What is bad about it is how crowded and cramped it is!
However; the most important factor in a grocery store is proximity!
A family business with a good selection of plants, friendly service, and a good town atmosphere. They always seem knowledgeable and not overpriced.
This is a great place for if you are in their inside crowd. It's a great place if you've been a guitarist for years and hang around the store.
However; they are not welcoming to new customers who walk in! Many employees will marginalize their service to you or act awkwardly if you are new. I have went there for years, and I see it almost every time a unknown customer walks in the door!
The same people never, ever recognize me (although I've went there for a decade)! haha
I started going there when they had a small selection of sheet music (which is real small now). Afterwards, I tried ordering music through them direct from their warehouse. They said it should be there in a week and if there were any problems, they would call. It took me two months to get my music! Each time I called, it was the same person (who took my order and had received calls from me before), who had no idea about my music that was needed for an important event.
Then I tried buying a guitar from them when I started to play... I obviously had no idea what to look for in a guitar. I found out later that the guitar they sold me was quite broken, defected, and that it wasn't very playable at all!
There are some nice people who work there, but the company sucks its' income from their music teachers and their marked-up, commissioned sales.
