We left our house October 2013, and almost one year later, after the first collection company last November dropped his case, Now he send another colletion agency my way. Good things, I save all the document and emails. I am going to dispute his case again, and I will remind all my friends in Charlotte not to use this company. it is really a "Lawn of nightmare" after we have beem a faithful customer for more than 7 years, never missed a single payment. and this is what we got(Please see our previous review).
Last year we have put this on BBB, you can check this out:
This is regarding the reason why I refuse to pay what Lawn of Dream was asking.
We (my husband and I) terminated the contract because we sold the house and moved to other city. And we put out the For-Sale sign on Aug/07/2013 so they should know we are moving soon. And we notified them right after we got the written contract from a buyer. All we did were in GOOD faith. Our past credit record can prove that.
We have been using their service for more than 7 years, and we never have any single late payment. (They can show our perfect payment record in the past).
We have some similar year-long contracts with other service providers (like pest control, termite control), when we notified them, they all understood the situation and did not give us any trouble. (We can provide their information if needed)
The date when we contacted Lawn of Dream (Oct/08/2013) about the cancellation, they stopped coming to cut our grass the next day (They always come Wednesday) without letting us know.
They broke one of head of my irrigation system during cutting the grass this year, and I notified them more than 2 times (verbally and left a message), they kept on ignoring my complaint. Their excuse was that it is not covered under the contract. But our contract is only mentioned it is owners responsibility to flag the head during the aeration process. And this damage was not under that case.
Our remaining contract is 5 months, and the monthly payment is $155.00, so the total remaining payment should be $775.00. But they are asking for $715.00 from us for breaking the contract. During the remaining 5 months, they still need to provide some type of services, like cut grass every week for October and November, blow leaves during the winter, and other prevention service to the lawn. So their business model and ethic is that they do not need to provide the service, but the customers still need to pay for it.
They are the most unethically business we have ever dealt with. You can check their records in this website: http://www.insiderpages.com/b/15250041262/lawn-of-dreams-huntersville
We already file the complaint to BBB, we will also notify Fountain grove homeowner association to warn them so people wont go through what we have been through with them, and we will fight them to the court if necessary.
By the way, we did offer them to pay $300.00 (even though they provide no service), but the owner refuse our reasonable offer and later I even email the owner for not ending the contract and continue the service and I will inform the new owner of the house that I will give them this service as a gift but he replied that since it belong to a new owner so there is liability so he cannot do that, this show his intention of collecting the money without doing any service. So now, they will get nothing from us.
I have the emails that show the conversation I had with Rich Semioli the owner of Lawn of dream I can forward them to you as evidence if needed.
