I'd love nothing more than to be able to give Via Services Elite a 5-star rating, but I'd really much rather know how Whirlpool decides to "certify" a service provider. They connected me with Via Services Elite in the DC area and it's been a total bust. No customer service. No communication. No responsibility. No follow-thru. It's been a very very sad state of consumer affairs. Whirlpool should be very concerned with Via Services' performance and so should you.
Lesson learned: START by reading all the online reviews. If I had, I would have made a different choice. However, after many many MANY attempts to get my home improvement project done correctly, a month later I'm still waiting for my deck to meet basic safety requirements - like a rail not collapsing when you lean on it. The people have been very nice, no doubt about it, but the fact is they aren't able to deliver on the promises they've made. They talk a really good game, but their practical skills don't measure up. Add to that fact that they don't seem to understand basic project management - like ordering the correct materials and scheduling their workers properly - and their pricing makes them higher than most competitors. Originally, their higher price point and their motto "Our Craftsmanship Shows" were the deciding factors for me - assuming I'd receive a high quality deck in return for my investment. Now, I'm sitting with a deck that may not even pass inspection. I'm somewhat confident PW will make this right in the end, but projects like these should be a celebration of homeownership. Instead, I've found new levels of annoyance and anger over the past month. Home improvers beware.
