FIRST, let me say, I was required to list a rating for this post. Given the choice, I would have NOT given one star to this place.\r

I just returned to Ohio after my father was discharged from a one week stay at AVH. His wife was admitted 2 days after he got out., and stayed for 5 days.\r
\r
I spent quite a bit of time there between the two of them, being admitted within a week of each other. Not only did I witness the sub-standard care my father and his wife recieved, but I helplessly watched a room mate, wait 1 and 1/2 hours, to be suctioned! \r
\r
They came in one evening and proceeded to tell my father, they were there to give him a DIALYSIS TREATMENT! My father was not admitted for kidney support.\r
\r
Dad is 69, his wife is 63. I requested case management services for them because, they live alone. I am 3,000 miles away. I know I will not see my father alive again. If you want to die...go to Antelope Valley Hospital.

Pros: The pro's are a VERY MINIMAL compassionate staff.

Cons: There is not enough room here to list the con's

.

Very sloppy, they know they are the only hospital in the valley and act like it. Place is forever under construction - looks sloppy. Staff is unreally curt / short / mechanical. You could be bleeding to death and they wouldn't look up at you. Very busy / crowded and I felt like a number, not a patient. .

I don't like hospital but I choose this hospital because it the largest one in the area. Everyone seems to be pretty helpful and nice. They are pretty clean and smell alot better than other small hospital around here... lol

PROS: Bigger is better sometime
CONS: Nothing to compliant!!!
