I used to like Dr. Sidberry, but I called for a routine prescription to be filled and they would not do it unless I came in for an exam. When I asked why they had no real answer. I currently do not have insurance and did not feel like

I have known Dr. Wolfe for more than 20 years. I have been her patient for at least that long. As a matter of fact my whole family goes to her. I continually recommend my friends and family to her office and I cannot believe the crap the two preceeding whacko's have written. First of all they are probably the same person as the reviews were written on the same day. Am I the only one who reconized that. Additionally local wife mom who states she works in the medical professional is an idiot. I would love to know what she does in the medical profession. I have been an RN working in every area of the hospital from critical care to the ER and no doctor promises a patient 1 test. And any doctor who would agree to only run 1 test on a patient would not be a physician worth seeing. How can you tell what is wrong with a person who has adominal pain when you do one test. This person obviously has no medical knowledge and very limited intelligence. Obviously she tried to control the doctor and became angry when the doctor said no. Dr Wolfe does the best she can for her patients and she does not allow the patients to direct her care. That is not her style. You will not get what you want but you will get what you need and that is why she has so many awards. These two (actually one) complainers need to go to medical school, learn what it takes to make a diagnosis, finish a residency, pass the boards and then treat themselves. And if their issues involve fake pain and or anxiety issues for the purpose of securing controlled subtances please go somewhere else. She does not do that. And if she was in any way rude to you I know that it was because you "demanded" something you should not have. In all the years that I have known her the only time I have seen her upset with a patient was when they attempted to con her out of pain meds and or "nerve pills". She may be a short little woman but she has no fear. So hear this: Dr. Wolfe is a great doctor. She gives away more in healthcare than she ever gets paid for. She has a very large and devoted patient following and we do not want crazy, non bill paying, dead beat, drug addict patients upsetting our doctor.

Pay attention to the negative reviews!!

My husband went to Dr. Wolfe with abdominal pains. After an exam, she decided to do blood work. Having been surprised by lab fees in the past, we specifically asked how many tests would be run.

We were told one.

We specifically explained a past situation where we received an exorbitant lab bill in the past because we were unaware of how many tests were being run.

We were told there would be one blood test. We were told the name of the test.

We received a separate bill for the lab test from the lab company and we paid it.

Then we received a bill from BFC for the exam, a urinalysis and blood work. When we called the billing office, we explained that no urinalysis was done and we already received a bill from the lab company for the bloodwork. They agreed that they had charged us for the urinalysis that we had refused, but that there were results for separate blood work (done in the office) in the file, therefore we must pay for it. We never requested this bloodwork. We were never told of this bloodwork. We never received test results for this bloodwork. We never authorized this bloodwork. They just did it on the blood they drew for the other test and then charged us for it.

We have paid the remainder of our bill, excluding these two charges, but BFC refuses to remove the charge for the bloodwork. They say the service was rendered, so we must pay. (Regardless of the fact that the service was rendered without our knowledge or consent.) They said that they will send us to collections if we do not pay this bill that we do not owe.

We were responsible for our care and for our financial burden by specifically asking and authorizing one test. For all we know the test they performed was not even on my husband. After all, they already charged us for a urinalysis that was never performed.

Add to the fact that Dr. Wolf is rude and abrupt and we had to call repeatedly just to get the test results for the one authorized test.

I work in the healthcare profession and I am appalled that this office feels it can strong-arm and bully us into paying for medical treatments that were refused by holding our credit hostage.

Was talking to a friend about a bad experience we had with Dr. Wolfe and when she realized who we were talking about told us that she'd just been to Dr. Wolfe.

She explained her situation to her and Dr. Wolfe told her that she probably had a certain medical condition and that they would do blood work. Then she told her that if it wasn't the medical condition she thought it was then she should prepare herself for all of her hair to fall out. She drew the blood.

My friend never received the lab results. She called after a week only to find out that the office LOST HER BLOOD.

I've been to the office several times, but never again. The office is old and run down and is dirty. Dr. Wolfe has no bedside manner whatsoever.

I have been a patient at Brentwood Family Care clinic since 2006 and have ALWAYS been treated with respect and care. I'll admit that Dr. Wolfe-Sidberry is not the friendliest woman you'll ever meet, however, all the nurse practioners there are FABULOUS! I typically see Dr. Karen Rosenthal or Dr. Hesselrode and they are fantastic and even have Saturday hours! My husbands hadn't seen a doctor in 10 years because of several bad experiences, however, after he met Mary (Dr. hesselrode) he no longer fears going to the doctor. They are never afraid to listen to what you have to say and they are never afraid to admit when your issue goes beyond their expertise and need a referral to a specialist. Before I met them I was 410 lbs, my cholesterol was 350, my blood pressure was through the roof and my average blood sugars were in the 300's. Through their help over the past 5 years i'm down to 280 lbs, my cholesterol is 180, my blood pressure is stable and my sugars are under the diabetic range. If I call and leave a message at the nurse station I ALWAYS get a call back by the end of the day. If I have blood work done I ALWAYS get a personal call with my results and recommendations within 3-4 days. If I am sick and need an appointment they will ALWAYS make sure I am seen that day. They have a full time phlebotomist so you needle phobics need not be afraid. They even have a seperate waiting room for adults and then adults with children that has toys (yay)! I have NEVER had a problem with billing in 5 years. If I get a bill for something I shouldn't they simply say "we'll take care of it" and they DO!
Karen is my total care provider. She cares for my diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and she does my well-woman exams every year. They call you and remind you when you're due for a check-up of some sort. The are a BREEZE to work with when it comes to mail-order prescriptions and are SO prompt at getting back with pharmacies.
They are real and caring people who always make me feel heard and respected.

Office Experience:
I went to Brentwood Family Care Center for what I suspected to be a spider bite on my wrist. They got me in pretty fast, so that was good. The staff is professional to the point of having little to no personality. The Nurse Practitioner that saw me was friendly enough, but didn't have any answers. The overall office experience was okay.

Billing Experience:
It took them about 3 months to send me a bill and it was completely wrong. They had not applied any of the insurance adjustments and billed me for a charge insurance didn't pay. I would not complain if I owe this money, but I do not. The insurance company needs information from Brentwood Family, not my responsibility. I sent them a check for the amount my insurance says I owe with a note indicating the reason I did not pay the full amount of their bill. They held my check for a month and didn't try to contact me. I had to call them and play phone tag for 2 weeks to talk to someone. I thought I had this straightened out then I got a bill today stating I owe them $141.01. Insurance says I owe them $21.25. It baffles me that after talking to the billing department that my bill is STILL WRONG. The most infuriating part of this bill is the handwritten note saying "Past Due, Please Pay". I don't owe them anything at this time.
I find it pretty sad that I have to tell them how to do their job. I will not be back to this clinic.

A note to everyone: Check your insurance Explanation of Benefits before you pay the doctor. It seems to me that doctors offices want you to pay more than you owe. This experience is not unique to this clinic. I have had to battle it out with Summit and other doctors offices. DO NOT PAY ANY AMOUNT OVER WHAT YOUR INSURANCE SAYS YOU OWE!

One of the best family clinics I've been too, but not for people who want a doctor to gives people unnecessary the meds they think they need. Dr. Wolfe is wonderful and truly cares about me and my family. Shes been my doctor since I was a kid. In fact without her help my mother wouldn't be around today, However she is going to tell you the truth and not baby you. Take a page from Micheal Jackson's book and be happy about that. Nashvillegirl- your story sounds weak at best, actually it doesn't make sense at all. "Yes, you have pains?Ah ha Infertility must be the reason!" You've got to be kidding me! Was it possibly because you didn't get the pain pills you were wanting? Also, speaking from someone who has seen several specialist, the chances of you getting your results in 24hours are slim. I've had to wait up to a week up north (where unfortunately where I've moved for school), and the ultra sound was done in the same medical complex! If you don't want to see a nurse practitioner or wait then make an appointment like everywhere else, and if you think you have ability to self diagnose then perhaps you should consider going to med school. Otherwise, try this place. I don't think Dr.Wolfe is taking new patients anymore, but some of the other Docs are. Martha is wonderful and level headed. So, if you get to see her by glad!

Oh by the way... Dr. Wolfe was in the hospital and almost passed in March and April of 2008 so savanh and INgirl how could you have seen her?

I am a patient at Brentwood Family care and have been so for many years. The staff is professional and Dr. Wolfe-Sidberry is both professional and caring. She however will not give patients what they ask for but rather what she thinks they need. She is not free with narcotics and will not authorize unnecessary referrals. She is staightforward in her comunications with patients and is not patronizing. If you are looking for a doctor who will allow you to direct your care and will give you everything you want you should not go there. I read two of the above critiques and I disagee totally. I do not feel that there is a better place for health care.

Dr. Wolfe-Sidberry is a great family doctor. She takes time to discuss everything with you. They have you come in a week before your physical for your blood-work, so she can have the results back in time to discuss them with you at the physical. The nurses and nurse practitioners are great too. The only draw back is sometimes you have to wait. But generally if you have an appointment, the waiting is not too bad.

I have been extremely disappointed with the care I have received from Brentwood Family Medical. Dr. Wolfe-Sidberry was recommended to me by a couple of friends, so I decided to visit her office. However, 4 out of the last 5 times I have visited, I have been seen by a nurse practitioner and not an actual doctor. The one time Dr. Wolfe-Sidberry did treat me, she was not very friendly and I feel that she did not do a very thorough examination. Her answers were very vague, and she seemed disinterested. I was obviously not very impressed. The nurse practitioner always recommends over-the-counter medicines that never really treat my symptoms instead of prescribing some helpful medicine. Besides the inadequate medical staff, I have also been disappointed with the long wait time at this clinic. The only positive side is that some of the nursing staff are friendly.

I would have to agree completely with Nashville girl. After moving to the Nashville area, I was eager to find a doctor for continuous treatment of my severe migraines. A friend who is a pharmaceutical sales rep referred me to Dr. Wolfe. She stated that she is rude to the sales reps, but based on an article posted in the office, Dr. Wolfe had received great patient reviews - plus she was less than a block away from my office. I was extremely disappointed at my initial appointment. Dr. Wolfe was abrupt, invasive and extremely inappropriate in many of her comments about my condition and previous treatment. She indicated that I would just have to deal with my headaches and just muster through. I had to repeatedly ask for referrals and provide her with insight on alternative treatments such as visiting an Ear, Nose & Throat doctor. After further research, I located another doctor who has been instrumental in setting up a regimen that significantly decreased the severity and frequency of my headaches. The front desk staff was extremely unapproachable, however, most of the nurses/aids were very nice.

I've never written a review before but felt compelled to after seeing the bad review left by someone below.

I've been going to Dr. Wolfe for about 6 years now and cannot imagine having another doctor. I'm not the easiest patient. I've had problems all over the board. Some easy to diagnose, some not.
They always have gotten me in rather quickly and the staff is incredibly friendly. They are good at what they do. Dr. Wolfe is the type of doctor we need more of I think. She really isn't afraid to tell you what needs to be done and is looking out for your health. She treated me for a long time with bronchitis and then finally told me if she saw me again, I was getting my tonsils out. Sure enough, she made me get surgery. They recommended a fantastic surgeon and I've not had the issue since. She also caught it when I went to the emergency room for something else and the treatment I was given could have caused a serious ADE. (It was a holiday, office closed). The ER had only made it worse, instead of better. The point is, I trust this staff and this doctor. I'd advise anyone to go here.

My family and I have been patients for over 10 years, my sons who both played football had regular visits.
My wife is demanding and is not afraid to express her opinion and we have all been very pleased with the diagnosis, the service, the timely referrals on matters out of their scope of expertise and the straight talk from Dr. Wolfe.

The nursing staff calls in refills very timely and follows up when I have not made my quarterly trips to evaluate my diabetes control.

I've dealt with the medical industry from a medical cost management consulting standpoint for over 30 years; and I trust this staff with my family without reservation.

I'm a bit amazed by the poor write up; 10 years averaging 4 visits each per year and that type rating makes me highly suspect of it's accuracy.

I was a bit shocked to read nashville gal's review. I have been going to Brentwood Family Care Clinic for some time, and I have enjoyed my care there. The physicians and PAs there seem to really be good at ruling out "bad stuff", and the rest of the staff is kind and curteous.

The docs can be a bit gruff at times (I think Dr. Wolfe is a doll), but they just want to ensure that your healthcare needs are met. They do perform a lot of tests, but part of this, I believe, is to ensure there is nothing really bad going on with you. Plus, in my experience, they refer you to specialists when needed (or even requested).

Their building is a bit on the old side of things, but the exam rooms are clean. Bottom line is that I appreciate them, and I would recommend them to anyone. Plus, most of the medical professionals are female - which is so nice when getting a pap or addressing other "woman concerns".

I was having abdominal pains and was also trying to get pregnant. At my first visit, Dr. Wolfe said "Most people suggest you go to a specialist, but I can get more from insurance, so you should have me treat you." That seemed odd, but I ignored it. She then said my pains suggested I had damaged ovaries that would likely never produce children. She said I would need a surgery or two to attempt to repair them and sent me for an ultrasound to check things out. The day after the ultrasound, no phone call. The next day, I kept calling and calling and no response. I finally went over there and a nurse said "Oh, you just have an ovarian cyst. You're fine." I am SOOOO glad the doctor scared me saying I would likely never have kids.

Oh and the kicker ... I was already pregnant.

Pros: able to get an appointment quickly
