My daughter has been going for a few years now since shes been diagnosed with some eye concerns. For those few years I was always in awe of how impersonable the office was. Thinking I was over protective mother, I see now that the mothers intuition speaks a lot and loud. This is just not a friendly, flexible or considerate place. We missed my daughters appointment and received a no show bill after the fact. Upon receiving the no show, I called to speak with the receptionist with what I thought were valid explanations, 1) we received no reminders either call or post card and 2) on the day of question, inclement weather interfered with my ability to make the appointment. At that time I was given options to pay the bill and continue services or forego the bill and discontinue services. I chose the later, to discontinue service with them and requesting my daughters file be transferred. But before this request, I left two messages for the optical shop (to whom I was told did the billing) by the receptionist. In my messages I explained what had happened, pleaded for some flexibility given the circumstances of what happened and asking for consideration and a return call. I never received a call back. Three months later I received another bill. \r

1.If you make an appointment a year earlier, theres no call or post card sent to remind you regardless of how far in advance its schedule. \r
2.If you are okay with an organization thats strongly against giving a reminder, but okay with sending you a no-show bill within a week of the scheduled appointment. \r
3.If you are okay with being received by rude frontline service or feeling as if you are walking in a war zone. \r
4.If you are okay with you or your child not being offered a smile at any point. \r
\r
While I always consider my appointments, its no question that I would not jeapordize our safety while trying to make the appointment. Had I been reminded of the appointment, I certainly would have called. But it gets down to principal. . .at no point did I receive a call, any consideration or offered opportunity to reschedule as a negotiation point. Surely, running a business like this is bound to lead to failure. Initially, I thought I will not pay the no-show fee but after consideration decided I will. Because I was raised to have principal and fact is while I dont agree with their policy and even though there were some uncertainties that interfered with the schedule, I was at some point made aware of the appointment. But I think its only fair to share my honest opinion about my treatment and this is by far one of the worst places to go for friendly service, flexibility and someone who cares. For me, it gets down to service and principal for which this company has neither. Its pretty obvious when other doctor offices share the opinion.\r

I was just reading the reviews that were posted and noticed that several had comments. It was obvious after reading the comments, that it was an employee who had responded to the posts. I was trying to select an Ophthalmologist to see, since I am new to the area and like to read the reviews before I make a final decision to call. This was enough for me and frankly it's a shame that the Doctor obviously doesn't know about the comments his staff has made here and doubt he is aware of their behavior toward his patients. A practice is built on good reputation and a great staff, obviously not the case here. Sounds to me, like this MD's staff is going to run his practice into the ground. I'll be going elsewhere!

Agree with msba's review. We have been patients for years.

Questioned a billing charge with the billing person / receptionist, Michelle, who was extremely rude from the moment she picked up the phone. She refused to help, accused me of trying to get services for free, and would not allow me to speak to the doctor directly. She stated he does not have voice mail and I'd have to leave a message through her directly. I was polite throughout the conversation with her but very frustrated by the end - I simply wanted to speak to them about the appropriateness of a charge and would have ended up paying if she'd been in any way polite.

The staff and doctors at this clinic are excellent. They set the patients at ease. I have been several times and have not ever had to wait more than five minutes.

I went to mccormick's office for a scratched cornea(worst pain ever). upon entering I was met by an extremely rude receptionist, it was almost too much effort for her to help me. This was back july 29th, they patched my eye gave me some pain medicine. I had to go back on 30th to get the patch removed and that was it. I found out yesterday Sept 23, that i owe them $35. I paid my initial co-pay for the visit on 7/29, apparently they are charging me an additional visit to remove the patch. When i called about the bill i was met with the same rude receptionist, i asked to speak to the Doctor, she told me he does not get involved in billing, at this point i told her i wanted to speak to him about his policies and rude employees, she told me he would prob not call me back but she would give him the message. I would drive 50 miles out of my way with a metal rod sticking out of my eye before i went back.

Cons: rude employees, shady billing practices
