Our visit with Dr. Michael Valastro at Orthopedic Associates of Central Texas was the worst Dr. visit we ever received. If I could give him zero stars, I would.
We got Dr. Valastros name from the Round Rock Medical center ER department the night before. When we called to make an appointment in the morning at 7:50am, we got answer machine. The answer machine told us to call back during office hour, but no office hour was stated. So the office will start at 8:00am, 8:30am, 9:00am or never? I called back after 8:20am, the staff told me Dr. Valastro has no time, but his NP can see us at 10:20AM.
We should have turned around and left when we saw the room full of angry and impatient patients. Waiting areas are like a zoo, very trashy like a third world country sardine bus.
At check-in, the front desk staff is horrible rude, we stood in front of her for 2 min, before she stopped pretending to play with her fingers and notice us. We are so sorry we are such inconvenient for you to check us in.
Wait time: very long and open ended. No one knows when the wait will be over. you will be seen today!
We waited and waited, more than 2 hours past our appointment time, we still in the waiting area.. During all this time, No one told us anything. When we go to the front desk and asked the front desk staff. Wow, was she awful!! She seems so annoyed when she has to drop searching on web to deal with humans.
She told us, we will be seen today. (Today, before lunch, 2:00pm, 5:00 pm). She has no answer. She told us, We did not want to rush our patient during their appointment. When I asked to speak with office manager, was told both office managers were out for lunch. (I love to have lunch myself after waited more than 2 hours past our appointment.) So I asked to see a different Dr. in the office. She stonewalled. She refused to do anything for us.
Finally, the office manager Monica showed up after 12:00pm. Other people showed up, bring us to the room. The staffs have no name tag; we were not sure who came in and talk with us. (Why can you introduce yourself to your patient, before you started treatment/asked what is going on?)
We never got to see Dr. Valastro or his NP. We saw Dr. Jennifer N Lord, who pinch-hitted from then adjacent office to alleviate the situation. Wow, she was great.
We respect your time (Dr. Valastro), by showing up 10 mins before our appointment. We deserve some respect from your staff to inform us if you are going to be two hour late. Respecting us by informing us, not only as a patient but also as a person; respect is not a word in your office's vocabulary. We would love to have a chance to meet Dr. Michael Valastro and his NP, your staff made sure that did not happen today or ever. If we cannot trust you to know what is going on with your staff in the office, how can we trust you.
