Not a good place. As a regular sidewalk counselor at this clinic, I have seen their workers lie to me as to where I could stand. Once I determined that they were wrong, I now am continually sworn at by their lone security guard. He even puts down my religion in vulgar ways. So much for their Pro-choice stand and non-judgmental attitude. All I am doing is trying to give clients an alternative to abortion and let them know the truth about birth control. If you are considering oral contraception, please consider waiting until marriage to have sex and find someone who has also waited. STD's are a big deal, not something that everyone gets like PP's doctor says on their website. PP doesn't have a cream for all STD's as one of their ads suggest. Some STD's can lead to cervical cancer, can make women sterile and some can never be cured, coming back at any time in your life. With STD's climbing in MI, simple testing as PP suggests, will not get rid of the problem. Save sex until marriage! Statistics also show that 40-50% of women who have had abortions had been using contraceptives. PP pushes contraception but knows full well that they can make even more money on when contraception fails. This abortion clinic does over 2000 abortions per year and at $450 per abortion, they make over $1 million per year on abortion. With over 100,000 oral contraception clients per year, a 3 month supply at $30 amounts to over $3 million/year. These 2 totals amount to over 80% of their $5 million clinic income from their 990 tax form. Finally, PP of Mid and south MI teaches sex-ed classes in many school districts and at many organizations in the county. Why? To increase their number of birth control clients and then be there to offer abortions. Please don't fall into their trap. Your health is more important. Please read Abby Johnson's book "Unplanned" which exposes PP's push to increase abortions in Texas. She was a clinic director and saw firsthand at how PP is out to make money, even though it is supposedly a not-for-profit organization. Is this happening here in MI? One can only figure that it is. Known fact - Abortions are decreasing in the US, but are increasing at PP clinics. One last thing, oral contraception can cause abortions. The info is on the insert. If an zygote (a fertilized egg)cannot attach to the uterine wall because of the strong drugs in oral contraception, that is an abortion. Life truly begins at the moment of fertilization, as is taught in Embryology classes at U of M. Please reconsider Natural Family Planning to learn about the women's cycle and how to naturally control a woman's fertility. It is so much safer than oral contraception, which truly does increase the risk of breast cancer.
