Ocean Beach Bar & Grill is a great place with alot of potential
Polite, professional staff. Good music, and excellent place for just hangin out watching the game.I had alot of fun and met some good people, not to mention the philly cheese is out of this world.

Bravo! Cucina Italiana is great
Bravo is just an amazing restaurant. All the food I have tried there has been great, and they have a very nice wine list. The servers go out of their way to make sure you have a good dining experience, and you are able to modify menu items to suit your taste or dietary needs. A fabulous place!
Scooter's Coffeehouse is great
Scooter's Coffeehouse just recently opened up in West Des Moines, and I love it so far! They sent me a coupon for some free drinks, and they were so good, I know I'll go back once I've used the coupons up. I love their free WiFi, but I really wish they stayed open later.
Filling Station Lounge is okay
The Filling Station is kind of a dive bar, but if you're looking for a place to get a drink after dinner or after you play volleyball at Sands, it's a good place to try. Basic drinks at decent prices. Service varies.
Ohana Steak House is great
Ohana Steakhouse is a great restaurant. They grill all the food right at your table; it feels like they're putting on a show. I have enjoyed the steak & scallops there, among other things. It's expensive, but I highly recommend this place.
