Irenes Cuisine 4 Star Rating - Very good

Located on the eastern (residential) edge of the French Quarter,, this Italian restaurant is a "must" among locals. Besides Italian, they also offer "rustic French" with a New Orleans influence. I definitely recommend reservations, as this is a hard place to get a table.

Cafe Degas 3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

Located near City Park (approximately 2 miles from the French Quarter), this little gem is the perfect stop on the way to New Orleans Museum of Art. The mussels, Charcuterie and a nice glass of French Wine is the perfect way to spend an afternoon.

Real New Orleans atmosphere. This funky spot is located in the Riverbend-Carrollton area of Uptown New Orleans. A favorite of locals and Anthony Bourdain himself they specialize in fresh local ingredients and interesting dishes such as Shrimp and Alligator Sausage Cheesecake!

This bar is a local and visitor's gem tucked into the Dauphine Orleans Hotel. Hear the latest gossip, check with the bartender on other out of the way bars. Check out the courtyard pool!

Southern Candymakers 5 Star Rating - World class

They make the best pralines in New Orleans. I am from New Orleans and have tried them all. They have the creamiest and best praline in town. They also pack and ship them if you need. The best!

Resplendent Construction 3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

These guys may be a little rough around the edges, but they are pretty good at milling wood. They need time to do it, but they can custom mill your frame designs if you need it. Lots of wood chips and dust here, just what you'd expect from a mill shop.

Saint Charles Tavern 4 Star Rating - Very good

A good place to go very late at night, after hearing great music at a club. Good local style New Orleans food that satisfies late night hunger. Seems like there are always a lot of people here. Fun tavern, too!
