I have an '02 Tahoe that had very minor problems with the transmission. I meet Scott when I dropped off the truck and told him the problems I was having. I went in expecting the technician, Hank, to say that he could find nothing wrong when he did his free diagnostic check and drive. Instead he discovered the problems I said I was experiencing and one that I forgot to mention, I was shocked and pleased. They called me and told me what was going on and what needed to be replaced. The shop was clean, for a transmission repair shop, and well organized. To me this is a sign of a well run shop. The repair took a week, and most if this was due to fighting with the 3rd party warranty company. When it was done the truck was clean, even the transmission was clean, I got under the truck and looked, again a sign of a mechanic that takes pride in his work. They did a fine job on the repair and told me to come back in 10 days, even if nothing was wrong, just so they can double check everything. Yet again another sign of taking pride in their work. I strongly recommend this facility to anyone that needs transmission work of any kind. Their rates are good and they are experienced with 3rd party warranty companies. Even if you think the problem is minor, as I did, there could be major hidden problems.

My transmission had been acting up and finally went out not too far from home while exiting an expressway. I managed to make it home and after much consideration, I called Aamoco. They were polite and made me feel as if I had made the right decision and I did regarding my transmission. They did the work quickly and fairly priced and it came with a good warranty. I then noticed a television ad from Amaco regarding them branching out into the field of engines. Since my "check engine" light was on I took it in to them after making an appointment. I was then told I need to bring the car back for further evaluation which I did. They had my car for 6 hours. When I called to see what was up, I was told I had a bad coil pack. Upon further discussion it turned out the mechanic had an abandoned vehicle in the back that was the same year and model as my vehicle. He was removiing new parts from my car and replacing them with parts from this abandoned car to find the problem. They then said it would cost about $800 for a new coil pack and have it installed. Plus I owed $389 for the work that had already been done.I hit the roof. I called Auto Zone to see how much they were, and read my cars manual to see how difficult replacement would be to replace. For less than 1/4 the price they quoted I bought a new coil pack and my son and husband installed it in less than 45 minutes. This was also the first time either of them had done this. I also refused to pay for work done by switching out my new parts and putting in used parts from an abandoned vehicle and the fee was waived. The were polite while dealing with me while I was upset. I requested my new parts back and received them. PROS: friendly staff and very knowledgeable about transmissions CONS: in the dark regarding motor work

If you need a new transmission this is a great place to have it done. They were reasonable with negotiating a fair price. Since my car was going to be unavailable for several days, they offered to give me a rental car....now that is first class! They offer an unlimited warranty too.

I am writing in regards to my recent visit to an "AAMCO" located at 2929 Rucker Ave, Everett, WA. I brought my 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ in to specifically have my Differentials, Transmission and Transfer case examined. I asked for an estimate for this examination and was told by Jim (the manager I believe)it would be done for free, that they would just need me to leave the vehicle for half a day. I said great and left the vehicle with them at 11:30 AM that day. I called back at 5:00 PM and they said nothing but that it need tires and shocks (something I already knew and told them I knew about when I left it) and that they would need to keep it another day. I was reluctant but but agreed. They said they would be finished by 10 AM the following morning. I decided to walk down, as it is only a few blocks, at 10 AM and they still had not put the car on a rack. They said to call at 1PM and they would definately have it checked out. I called and Jim repeated that I needed shocks, I said "how about the backlash on the rear diff." He replied "Its way out of spec" I asked "How far out of spec" He replied "Far". I replied " ok how did the front look", "The front looked fine" he replied. I said "And the transmission and transfercase?" "They had a little bit of shavings in them and it was a bit dirty" Jim informed me. So I came and got the vehicle and went home planning to bring the vehicle back to get it fixed after I got shocks AS JIM SUGGESTED. When I got home, THIS IS THE KEY PART, NOTHING HAD BEEN TOUCHED! Unless these guys have figured out some magical way to reuse the same gasket sealer on the differentials (you cant do this the covers will leak) and replace all the dirt and oil built up on the bolts to take the covers off the differentials and drainplugs on the transmission and transfer case so that it looked like a wrench or socket never touched them!! Then these guys flat out lied to my face!!!! I did not expect this kinda of sleazy shotty service from a company that broadcasts such AMAZING service over the radio. I DEFINITELY will not be bringing my car back to this AAMCO again, and have a really good mind to myself and advise others to avoid AAMCO at all costs! I was out of a car for a day and a half while I had to listen to Jim Feed me a pile of bull! If nothing else I would advise those guys to straighten up their act or not one customer will be returning to their facility. Thank you

My 2001 Nissan xterra had a transmission problem. My extended warranty covered the transmission. AAMCO in woodbridge, VA told me to pay them an additional $109/hr to put the clutch back in the car. I had a $50 deductible with my warranty company. I told AAMCO that I am not going to pay them anything extra and that they should put the original clutch back in the car since there was nothing wrong with the clutch when I drove the vehicle to the shop. I will not recommend
