I WILL NEVER SHOP AT DUANE READE AGAIN
i had purchased 2 American Express gift cards in (at the 79th & 2nd Ave Store Friday 9/11/2009 approx 7am) the amount of $100 each (It comes out to $105 plus)
The cashier never activated the cards.
I had time so instead of giving my friend the card I had gone to Macy's to purchase a gift using the American Express gift card. As I previously stated the card was blank.
I called both managers at the 79th & 2nd store and neither was cooperative. They did call American Express and told me to call myself as Duane Reade was not responsible. I had the receipt that I had purcased it at that store which I showed to them.
I am now in dispute with American Express.
Needless to say, I wont purchase gift cards at any of your stores and will go out of my way to Walgreens, CVS or Rite Aid just to avoid your stores.
