Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon in Las Vegas, NM

The last two times I went there, I was disappointed with the service. We were allowed to sit for a while (translated--too long) before our drink orders were taken. 10 minutes later, we got our drinks. Then the waitress disappeared for another 10 minutes before our orders were taken. This was at 2:30 in the afternoon on a Thursday-not exactly crunch time. Luckily, we were only mildly in a hurry and had some wiggle room with the time. The menu appears to have been cut down as many of my favorites were no longer available. This includes the deep-fried mushroom appetizer that was once available on request. The food was adequate, but not great. The other time was unfortunately on a "Kids Eat Free" Tuesday night. They were short-staffed, but continued to allow people to go on the waiting list and not inform them immediately of a possible 60-70 minute wait. After several inquiries, they finally told us of the continued wait. So we ended up leaving and going to Applebee's. It wouldn't have been so bad, but it was my birthday and I was really wanting food from there. They didn't even offer as much as a soda to the people waiting, which (if done) could have eased the inconvenience.

My wife worked here for 4 years through high school so I went there quite a bit. I also agree with the sweet potato's, they are pretty good. But I would have to give it 5 stars because I'm not sick of it yet. Usually when you go places a lot you get tired of them but I haven't yet. The fillet is awesome and the servers are very nice too.

Lonestar has got to be one of the friendliest family restaurants in the area. Everyone from the hostess to the manager was welcoming and nice. I do recommend that you try their fillet, its the best around by a long shot. The prices have gotten a little higher in the past year however the food is more than worth it. I highly highly recommend them.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The steak is tender and juicy, but the wait is long. Don't go if you're super hungry and can't wait to eat. There is usually a long waiting list to be seated during dinner hours. Service is good, but slow. Peanuts flow freely, so that can help stave off your hunger.
