Southgate Cinemas

Southgate is the other cinema in town, opposite Movie Six. I prefer Southgate for it is a bit cleaner, newer, and the theaters are larger. It also has more screens, and thus, more movies.

They are currently in the process of adding on several more screen with stadium seating, a huge plus. It was already the better theater in town, now it ought to pull even further ahead.

It's a nice theatre with ample parking. However they are putting something else in the parking lot and the parking may not be good for long. It is a bit out of the way, but once you have been there it's not difficult to find.

This is the newest of the 2 movie theatres in Grants Pass. They have a nice arcade area for the kids. The movie theatre and area is clean. The concession stand has lots of room as well as the lobby. The selection of movies is good and the location is good. There seems to be adequate parking.

Essentially buried, tucked well away from Redwood Highway, Southgate Cinemas is a difficult theater to access unless youve mastered the geography of this part of Grants Pass. So yes, minus one star for its deplorable location. Yet on the bright side, this theater is more contemporary than The Movie Six across town. Southgates seating is comparably more comfortable and better arranged for surround movie viewing, along with its comparably superior audio and screen quality.
