My kids really liked seeing the model trains. I enjoyed the historical aspect of it - some scenes depict the Minneapolis RailRoads from the 20's - present. I can't remember the exact admission cost - was a few dollars per person.
I had pictures taken at the Eden Prairie branch of Flash Photography for my 2 year old. The photographer was a young girl who got lots of smiles out of my son. I do wish they would've spent more time with me going over backgrounds. Also, the online order system is terrible.
My 2 year old had a "pyogenic granuloma" which needed to be frozen off. We took him to Jennifer Lee in Eden Prairie - she's wonderful! Dr. Lee was so friendly that my 2 year old happily let her freeze it off without a fuss. Dr. Lee was also kind enough to give us some creme samples for our son. I highly recommend her for any dermatology issues!
Someone in my family had a vasectomy done at the UofM Urology. Everything was professional - not sure what else to say here! As far as I know, it was a success :)
I used a 'Happenings' book coupon for a car wash/vacuum at River Bluff carwash on West 7th - St. Paul. They did a sloppy job on both the wash and the vacuum. Not happy at all.
We used Lovelette Transfer a few months ago. The guys were fast workers, friendly & pretty quiet. Cost is $100 per hour for 2 guys. This was the mid-week and mid-month rates.
The Ran Ham bowling (located on the corner of Hamline & Randolph - THUS - RANHAM) below the "Nook" is a blast from the past! It's a retro bowling alley, without meaning to be. I love going here for a cheap round of bowling and a nice cold Grain Belt Premium. My son's class of 3 year olds took a field trip here - great for kids too. Would make a special birthday party!
Firestone sends out coupons in the St. Paul 'bulk mail' for a $9.99 - 14.99 - depending on the coupon - oil change. Pros: bargain Cons: need to make an appointment.
This Merry-Go-Round is located indoors at the Maplewood Mall (suburb of St. Paul). I prefer the Como carousel, however since this one is indoors, it open all year round.
The Cafesjains Carousel is a beautiful merry-go-round located at the Como Park - just outside the Zoo entrance. It's 90-somthing years old and has been wonderfully restored. Tickets are only $1.50 and it's open from May - October.
