The ATA Black Belt Academy in Rockwall, just off of Ridge Road in the Brookshire?s shopping center, is an excellent place for enrolling your child or even yourself in taekwondo classes. They offer several different programs either just karate classes or you can sign up for programs geared to achieve your first, second or third black belt. The programs are taught be extremely qualified instructors. Chief Master Robert Allemier owns this school along with several others in the DFW Metroplex and is an 8th degree black belt. Ms. Scarlett Raines runs this school and will be glad to help you in any way possible.
PROS: Excellent instructors, excellent facilities
I utilized Blue Planet when I worked over in the North Dallas (Plano) area. They are located on Preston just south of Frankford Road near the McDonalds. Their service is some of the best in the business and I like the fact that they get to the vehicle so quickly. It depends upon what type of service you desire but they get the vehicle out as fast as possible. Don't plan on going on a Saturday unless you are ready for a wait as the parking lot fills up quickly. Park the car and go grab a bite at McDonalds while you wait.
PROS: Excellent service, good price
The company I worked for in Plano used this flowershop to send arrangements to clients and contractors/architects. The company also used this florist to send flowers to my mother's funeral and they were absolutely beautiful. The arrangements are very subtle but very elegant. I also received a baby arrangement when I had my second child. I would highly recommend this florist if you are looking for something that someone will definately remember.
PROS: Breathtaking arrangements
CONS: A bit pricey but worth it
We happened upon Zeus one weekend while cruising downtown Dallas. I was amazed at the selection they offered of old and new comics. They were extremely organized and had tons of other merchandise to offer as well. One could spend all afternoon in the store looking at all the items if you are a comic book fan or an anime fan. Terrific store and I can't wait to go back.
PROS: Good parking, excellent selection
Jones Elementary is often overlooked since it is south of 30 in Rockwall and is close to two other elementary schools however it has one of the best student bodies in this area. The teachers from Mrs. Bello in Kindergarten to Mrs. Gist in fifth grade and Coach Holton to Mrs. Miller in the office all are some of the best in the area. They have always taken time out to speak to the kids and make sure their needs are being met at the school. As a parent they take my emails and respond which makes me feel even more a part of my child's education. I would highly recommend this school is someone is moving to Rockwall or if you are looking at relocating with Rockwall Jones is one school to consider.
PROS: New school, excellent teachers, wonderful kids
Amanda Rochell has done a considerable amount of work in the last few years which has given rise to a very good school. My son attended in 1st grade before moving to another school that had just been built and the students at Rochell were having to go back and forth in portable buildings for some of the classes. Now that the renovation has been completed though this older school has become another jewel in Rockwall's elementary schools.
PROS: Great teachers, good layout
We have gone to Amy Parks for several gifted programs run by SMU here in Rockwall. The facilities are wonderfully laid out and the staff and teachers make it a pleasure every time we come over. It is located just off of Ridge Road in Heath right by the post office. It is a really good school.
CONS: Not easy to get to
We had our son in preschool here for 1 year and during that year I was very pleased at the sheets we got everyday that told us what he had done and accomplished. We had just moved into the Dallas area and the teachers were very friendly and took great care at keeping our son involved since this was the first time he had ever been away from either mom or dad for any length of time. He had a great time there.
PROS: Good teachers
CONS: A bit of a drive if you don't live in the area
We have used not only the veterinarian services of the Animal Hospital of Rowlett but have used the boarding services several times when we have had to be out of town. They are very kind to the dogs and even give them a bandana to come home with. They have all lots of choices for boarding and they will perform exams or tests on the dogs while they are being boarded. It is definately a place I would recommend for your dog or cat where you can be assured they are getting good care while you are away.
PROS: Easy to get to, Parking is easy, Moderately priced
After having had children in a military hospital and a large corporate hospital (Baylor) I had my third child at Lake Pointe and I could not have been happier with the nurses and staff. They were very accomodating and even presented us with a surprise gift since we had our son there- a large box of chocolates for my husband and I to share. The renovations on the hospital bring it up to par with larger hospitals in this area. You are definately in good hands with this hospital in both the OB/GYN areas and with the emergency services department.
PROS: Easy to get too, Lots of parking
