The Masters Touch does a variety of home and furniture repairs. Upon moving into our new house, we had much damage by the moving company. They came out and fixed most of the furniture onsite. . The phone is answered by atheir friendly staff rather quickly and you are fit into the schedule as soon as possible- we were VERY impressed. Their rates are extremely reasonable and the service is professional, courteous and and friendly. They even lay paper on the floor to keep items from getting banged/scrated up.
Dr. Michael Karam is an excellent general practitioner. He has been treating patients in the Raleigh area for over 20 years. He is friendly, kind and down to earth. At the same time - he is very open and honest with his patients about their conditions. I highly recommend he and his staff for general care medicane. They also have a nice payment plan availble to folks with no insurance.
Small and independent athletic shoe stores are almost a thing of the past. 9th Street Active feet is a great place to buy running shoes. The service is great and they allow you to TRY out the shoe - and to return it if you are not happy with your choice/selection. They are a very benevolent shop and give a lot back to the community - including the sponsorship of a United Way race in the spring of every year. Lastly, and most importantly, their prices are quite reasonable.
One of the black historical colleges in North Carolina is Saint Augustines located in Raleigh. The school is over 150 years old. It is one of the last surviving balck schools. Although it has had its shares of trials and tribulations of the last several years - it has recently bounded back with the new school president. The program offers small class size and on campus living for all students who desire it. The accreditation was recently renewed and the program is thriving. If you are in the market for a very small school, then St Augustine's may be for you.
One of the best specialty dog stores around is Just Dogs Gourmet. You are allowed to bring your dog in the store - in fact it is encouraged. Many of the people who come there are upper middle class and the price is fairly pricey. They make cookies and dog bones in the shop for dogs. Of course collars, leashes and brushes would be a little cheaper at a National chain store - it is importatn to now that the store is really interested in your dog. They take photos, have owner and dog events and even have Santa come in at Christmas to take pictures. You will fill good shopping at this place.
Although it has only been open for a couple of year - the Cream and Bean has certainly developed a World Class reputation! It was started by two NCSU graduates during the summer following their graduation. One of the guys came up with a flavor of Ice Cream known as Red Velvet Cake. The flavor was a hit right off the bat and got the business up and going. They have expanded into gourmet coffees and most recently - sandwiches. Reasonably priced and family friendly, one can always find what they want at the Coffee and Bean.
I bought bed liners for my trucks and have had it for several years now. Even with a LOT of hauling - it still is in very good condition. The HUGE garage accommodates a LARGE number of vehicles. They have a large amount o ftruck accessories. They maintain a large number of brand name and well known suppliers for their truck accessories and equipments. But - their largest item are the bedliners. They have regular sized ones ready to go - and then they will custom manufacture one for their customers. Their is also an occasional 5% off coupon in the Southside Shopper - so please be on the look out for it.
The Raleigh Iceplex Skating Complex is a new and welcome facility in the Raleigh area. The facility is open 7 days a week. During the week - there are not many patrons - so this is the best time for for the beginner to train. On weekends - it is PACKED and the ice gets torn rather easiley and quickly. For the non skater - the lounge offers a grea menu and a large fireplace to relax by. This biggest problem with the faciality is the fact that many parents drop their kids off and then leave the rink! A bad thing to do when 200 other parents do the same thing!
Some people believe that travel agents are a dime a dozen. Well, that's not true. Someare better than others. Hickory Beeline Travel is one of the best. They provide great service and do their best to get the best deal for their customers - and their serivice is greatly appreciated. I was so impressed when they sent us a bottoe of champagne to the resort in Aruba when we were on our honeymoon there. What a NICE job - so impressive!
I recently had the opportunity to have a great massage for only $20 at the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage. What a great deal. The massage lasted about 75 minutes and was done in candlelight with soft music playing. I was very pleased with the professionlism of the student - and his demeanor. He was very nice and during the massage asked several times about the pressure. I will be going back to them.
