Cottman is historically a well known name and company. Unfortunately, our family's experience with this company has been less than stellar. The car was NOT ready when promised. There was grease left on the driver's seat, on the dash and on the steering wheel. Most concerning was the fact that the car had 18 miles more on it when we brought it in than when we dropped it off there. So - we would NOT recommend Cottman to anyone for transmission service.
I recently had a computer dropped off at William Ives Consulting. Mr. Ives is an extremely nice guy. His shop is small and neat. There are NO other employees - so he is receptionist, biller and 'fixer' all in one. It took a bit longer to have it repaired than originally expected. It also cost SIGNIFICANTLY more than originally estimated by Mr. Ives - and no call was made about the price UNTIL I went to pick it up. So ---- be sure you get it in writing!
Recently had some electrical work done by A B Electrical Seervice Company of Raleigh. The electrician and owner, Mike., is quite knowledgeble. His 90 minute visit was an incredibly low cost of $45! He was able to fix a door bell and two electrical outlets for us. In addition to being a nice guy, we found him to be VERY professional and clean. In fact, he put on blue booties BEFORE coming into the house. We would use his services again.
Raleigh Cardiology Associates is the Premiere Cariology specialy group in the RTP area. There are 13 cardiologists on staff there providing services to both pediatric and adult patients. In addition to proven therapies, patient may take part in a variety of drug company sponsored studies. The facility is new and was opened in 2001. If you need a cardiac physician, I highly recommend this state of the art practice which is ranked num,ber 2 in all of North Carolina.
Briggs and Sons Tire is a great place to buy tires. Although they are considered an independent agent, they offer very similar pricing and same day service. Unlike other tire dealers, which charge you to recycle your old tires, this establishment takes your tires and does not charge a fee. While you wait, you can sit in the customers lounge where you can make free local calls, watch television, drink coffee or sodas and enjoy fresh pastries all at no charge.
Monica's Florist is a locally owned and operated florist in Raleigh. They do accept phone orders and take all major credit cards. The staff is friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. In a recent study by one of the local television stations, they were shown to be one of the best buys for the buck in the Raleigh/Durham area. A big perk is that delivery is free within a six mile radius. And a final important note they do offer a ten percent discount to senior citizens.
I have used Watkins florist on two separate occasions and I am inclined not to use them again. I foun d the staff to be quite uppity, and in one case, quite condescending. I had called to order flowers for a funeral service on the last occasion I used them. The flowers were not there that evening so I called the next morning asking where they were. I was told to relax that they were delivered that morning. As soon as she told me that some on in the background d said, Tell her the dead guy aint going no where. Because of that comment I will not use them again.
Mitchells offers great haircuts at affordable prices. Each time I have gone there for a cut, I have been very pleased. The consumer should note however that it is a Hairstyling SCHOOL. Therefore these folks are training and do not yet have their licenses therefore the process can take a while especially if you are getting a cut, shampoo, and blow dry. But for $4.00 a guy can not complain about the wait. Once you are completed, a teacher comes by and checks on you to make sure the cut is good and that you are a happy customer. Highly recommend.
Saint Marys is a private high school and two year college located on Hillsborough Street. It is a Catholic run program from girls. My daughter truly enjoyed being a student there. The nuns and teachers there genuinely care about the education and growth of the young women. Chapel is a requirement but it is offered in a nondenominational format and is all inclusive. It is neat to see the students go in as girls and leave as young women.
Revels Tractor and Supply Company is located on 401 south just outside of Fuquay-Varina. The dealership has been run by the Revels family for years. Although the company carries John Deere tractors and combines, its most recent claim to fame is the fact that as the need for farm machinery is the area has waned; the company has switched over to lawnmower sales and repair. In most cases lawnmowers can be repaired and returned to the owner within 24 to 48 hours. Besides having a dependable staff, the repairs are usually quite affordable.
