Pensacola Mart
This is a very small local convenience store. They sell the items you would normally see at 7-11. Its a little more expensive then there however there is no slurpee or big gulp. Its where all the students go to after school because its the closest place the get food. Restaurants and grocery stores are several blocks away. Its where the residents in the area go to for a quick snack or a drink if they are thirsty.
European Lingerie
This is a very small store and you wouldnt even notice that its there if it were not for the lingerie hanging out of the door. I found it this place a bit messy for my standards. The lingerie wasnt in a neat order, but they were still very exotic. These prices are kind of high but I guess you have to expect that for any type of lingerie.
Sensually Yours
I love the lingerie that is sold here. It truly is sexy. I would call this the local Victorias Secret since we dont have one here but there are products here that VS would not sell. The items here are expensive especially the gift baskets which range from the thirties into the hundreds. I would definitely purchase something here for a bachelorette party.
Liliha Public Library
Liliha Library is right next to Kauluwela Elementary School. A lot of the elementary school students go here after school. The library has interesting displays and unique items on their wall. The architecture place is interesting; I used to think it was a castle when I was younger. The library has very friendly employees and volunteers. Every summer, they hold a reading program for students to encourage them to read more. Although this library does not have that many books, you can request them.
Mc Cully-Moiliili Pub Library
McCully Library is located right across a Longs Drugs and next to a McDonalds Restaurant. You should watch out it you have magnetic items in your bags; the security machine will go off. This library is a good place to have a meeting if you go upstairs. They have a large selection of DVDs for rental, larger than the state library I think. They also sell books for very low prices and occasionally give away magazines.
Hawaii Fabric Mart
Fabric Mart has a great selection of fabric. I love the variety of Hawaiian prints they carry. You can only get them on Hawaii. They also sell Oriental prints which are so beautiful. They also sell accessories and patterns so you can make your own clothes. They sell patterns for coats, dresses, muumuus, and shirts. With enough talents you could make a prom dress.
Cold Stone Creamery
I like coming here to watch movies, but its expensive. They have changed their prices so that to watch on the weekends, its a little bit more. Inside the theatre, there is an arcade and a gift shop. The food is so overpriced; small drink is like two or three dollars, but you do get free refills. The popcorn isnt that great though. Although, I like watching movies here, the quality isnt perfect. You can see the glitches in the screen.
The Honolulu Advertiser
This is the daily paper in Honolulu. There are many sections but I like reading the Sunday paper more than the ones on weekdays. It is fifty cents on the weekdays and Saturday but $1.50 on Sunday. Thats because the Sunday paper is humongous. Its filled with ads, flyers, coupons, and more sections, such as Homes, Rentals, Cars, and Career.
Honolulu Star Bulletin
I prefer the other local paper over this one. The Start Bulletin is usually short and there are not that many articles. The paper is not that detailed. I think that its because this is an afternoon paper, but not a lot of news happens between 8 and 12. Most of the articles are nationally covered. Most of what I read in here is the advertisements.
Midweek Printing Inc
This newspaper comes through the mail every week. I love the articles in it. They cover sports, fashion, politics, and food. They also have a weekend edition. In the weekly edition, there are ads for local supermarkets and sometimes coupons. The subscription to the paper is free but you can also buy it for fifty cents at the stand if you dont have a subscription. Its worth your money even if you dont get it for free.
