This is an adult video shop. They have a huge selection of dvd's in lots of categories according to your fancy. They also have a toy section with gifts and other random adult shop items. They completely protect your privacy and don't make you feel icky going in there. The only problem is parking, and to walk in you have to be seen by anyone driving by the busy street of Holly. Other than that, I suppose if you are into video watching - this is the place to go. It is a little shop but is very organized and reasonable to rent/buy.
This center is a great place to go for classes - learning to swim, aerobics etc. The only problem is that it's the only local community pool so it's ususally packed. Often the high school swim teams have taken up the whole place for practice or events. they have a great big lap pool, a little waterslide, kiddy pool, diving pool and a huge relaxing hot tub. It is fairly inexpensive to go, I think $4 for open swim and they host many community event nights like teen pool, easter egg diving hunts and more. The staff are friendly (most college aged) and lifegaurds are highly qualified.
Richeys is a great place to go if your car needs a fixin'. Sometimes they have a promotion where you get a free detail cleaning on your car if you have over $500 in repairs. they deal great through insurance- those poor people - or on your own paying for it. I have been hit twice and gone here - very reasonable. They are located in a weird spot, but worth the 5 min. drive from the freeway. their receptionists and body workers are excellent. They also offer free estimates on jobs. they are definately a 5 star place!
Youngstock is a staple around my house. I can't wait for them to open in the spring and am super sad when they close up shop in late fall. They provide fresh, local produce and flowers from around the county. The prices are so low, I am most always shocked when my bill is rung up. they also carry a few dairy items - milk, cheese, cottage cheese and eggs. other than that it;s all about the freshest fruits and vegetables around. their flower and herb selection in spring to summer is great and they are always hearty plants. Parking can be tough, but it's worth the fight for fresh. local cheap produce.
Blue Moon is a consignment shop downtown with quirky taste. they are extremely picky about what they will buy from you and mostly specialize in vintage type clothing. It is hard to shop there if you don't look the type is what I found out. I felt very out of place and not real welcome when I went there. Being a consignment shop it is hard to find something if you know what you are looking for, but if you're just shopping around this might be a good place for you. Parking is a nightmare, staff are okay friendly and the prices are high.
The help and value at The Music Shoppe is great. They have a little bit of everything there from drumsticks, to sheet music, they know where to get it if they don't have it. The staff there know what they are talking about and are super friendly. They have parts and pieces down to sheet music. If they don't have it - they can tell you who does. They are also a great resource for where to go for lessons. The store is well kept, clean and easy to look around in. Parking can be trouble, being on the busy street, Meridian, but worth it if you need some help or advice.
The Grammophone company is the best dj service that I have experienced ever! They are great! This is a couple that run the business and have others that work for them. They are completely professional, have a great selection of music and th best part is that they really get into it. They come with little outfits and props that they goof around with during the music. This is great because not everyone likes to dance and it gives them something fun to do besides watch everyone else. they are easy to work with and will play anything you want and take requests too. They're extremely reasonably priced espeically for all the entertainment they provide!
Blackburn office supply is just that - an office supply store. But ... Others are welcome to shop there too! You can find great deals on chairs, desks and printers for your own home. They mostly deal with offices, big and small - fixing copy machines, providing clock in's and such, but if you are looking for something for your home, you are welcome too! They have great service, and are local so you are winning both ways. Most any office in Bellingham has something that came from their store becasue of their great prices and excellent service.
If you are a dancer, want to be one, or know one, this is a good place to visit. They have all the main supplies a dancer would need - shoes, tights etc. but so much more. They have a great supply of not so obvious items like lotions and fancy spandexwear. the prices are comparable to other dance wear companies, but they have the best service around. You don't feel hasseled to buy and they don't folllow you around looking at what you are looking at. They actually leave you alone to shop. I would highly recommend this place!
Yeagers is a tradition around here. It is family owned and has been around as long as I remember, and before that. They are mainly a sporting goods store, but have so much more. If you are looking for unique toys, the entire basement of the place is a kids dream! They've also got shoes (mostly boots), clothes - workwear, and great camping gear. In the winter, thier snowboarding, ski, and sledding stuff is the best. They also have various boating/fishing supplies, and huge tent sales in the summer. Thier prices are great, and the service is good too.
