Being Lebanese I love the food the Falafel King serves. It's close to what mom makes. They have a good selection and reasonable prices. There is also a very small grocery section. I wish they would get in some more of the hard to find items, but it will do in a pinch. They have a few cookbooks and some hukas too. Good place to get a taste of family cooking. Thanks
I went to swim and ski before a trip to Tahoe. I wanted to get ready to go skiing and had no idea where to start. They helped my pick out a ski jacket ($150) and told me to rent the rest. They were right. They had all the stuff there, skis, snowboards etc. They easily could have sold it all to me, but they saved me tons of money. Not to mention the hastle of schlepping it all there and back. Thanks!
Never having sewn before I went into A1 sewing thinking I was about to be taken to the cleaners....I wanted (I thought) to buy a middle of the road machine and learn to sew. After a long educational conversation with the sales person I walked out empty handed and with a whole new idea of what might be best for me. They saved me a ton of money that day, but I know that when I am actually ready to buy this is where I will go. So, to sum up. Great staff. Expensive, high quality machines. Good service. Classes. Accessories.
I needed some new furniture for my living room and found my way into Furniture Kingdom. They have a huge showroom on 13th. Easy parking. The showroom is a little old feeling although the furniture is new. I never found anything I cared for. They had a lot of stuff that looked like it was from the 80's. Big peacock lamps for the back of your red leatherette couch kind of place. They also had some contemporary things, but again, not for me. Worth checking out. I keep seeing the comercials thinking that no one really wants the sofa the dog was sitting on....
This is a really neat hardware store. Not only do they have all the nuts and bolts you would expect at a hardware store but they have all kinds of other "stuff". Need a hammock, no problem. How about a tire swing shaped like a dragon? They got it. They have toys for adults and kids too. It's a really neat "old-timey" feeling store. One of a kind you just have to check out.
Patty and her staff are the best! They truely live up to their name "gentle dental". I hated to go to the dentist untill someone told me about Patty. From the moment you walk in the door and are greeting by Brabara and her huge smile you will feel like old friends. Patty is the biggest kid of them all. She will be talking away and you will forget whats going on. When it's over you won't even know it happened. The new office is beautiful with all kinds of neat toys. Easy parking and great rates. Highly recommended.
Brittany's has beautiful jewelry from new to antique pieces. It is all "expensive" as the store is know for it's high quality. By expensive I mean you will spend more than you will spend at the mall buying a few grains of diamond dust, but it is well worth it. I have had them do appraisals on a few pieces of jewelry as well as some antique silver. They were very professional and are one of the few places that still offer appraisals on siverware. Great place to go and invest some money in a great gift.
This is a nice locally owned store with all kinds of different art, furniture and kinck knacks. It's a lot of whimsical stuff. My wife enjoys window shopping here. The prices are a little high. They offer what they consider "hard to find" pieces. My wife and I took a trip down to Tampa and found a small chain art gallery that carried the same pieces for about half the price. So they were not that hard to find and certainly not worth the money that Paddiwhack wanted. That being said they do have a lot of things to look at and it is a good place to find a "special" gift. The store reciently changed hands and I see less selection and higher prices.
This is by far the best chocolate in the Gainesville area. The moment you walk in the small store you will smell the delicious chocolates. They have a large disply case full of every chocolate candy you can imagine. They even have sugar free (you poor people). The candy is smooth and delicious. The price is a little high but well worth it. Forget the calories and treat yourself to a little bit of great chocolate!
I love going here to buy gifts for my wife. I always find something unique. They offer all kinds of art from sculptures, paintings and murals to wood, glass and even jewelry. We usually go in at Christmas to choose some special ornaments for the family. They have art from around the world and are able to do special orders. They also offer framing. The staff is very helpful and know all about the pieces they sell. The prices are what you would expect of a "gallery".
