Only one of those two adjectives apply to the food. The other is meant for the atmosphere during dance nights. I will never go back again, despite the fact my friend and I found solace away from the dance floor only to buy overpriced food (7$ for a crappy burger). Vowed to never go back and I haven't in 2 years.
This place and most businesses that have been here don't go over very well. This place just doesn't fit into the Davis scene as a sports bar. For starters it isn't downtown and second of all it's way expensive if you don't go during happy hour. I guess some people like to just go due to the attractive model-like waitresses.
Not a college student place unless you want to feel out of place while you bend and break. This is because it's a bit far from campus and caters toward an older crowd of yoganites. I suggest finding elsewhere if you want newer stuff and younger bones around you to stretch your mind with.
I definitely like the fact that it is a larger establishment with more vets than other places, it makes appointments easier to make. The downside of this is you lose a personal touch if you can't get with your primary vet. They didn't seem to know much about small rodents, but dogs and cats are fine. Good place in my book and not too pricey.
This place might not be considered the best Italian restaurant by far, but what it makes up for with all you can eat dinners on Wednesdays for 7.99 is everything that matters. The food isn't great, but 8 bucks buffet is a sweet, sweet deal. Their bread is really good and makes up for the lackluster pasta. Don't go any other time than this though.
I've only been one other place in Davis for a haircut (Supercuts) and I consider this place to be far superior. Their service doesn't laugh at you (I wanted a mullet, I guess I asked to be laughed at), their prices are reasonable and it was fun. They really know how to make you comfortable and give you the right experience you pay for.
This place is amazing. You don't even have to be an art or design major to appreciate a place such as this where the inner kid in you can express all the repressed creativity from monotonous essays. Plenty of selection to choose from and prices are cheap with a student discount. Great place to go! I sometimes go just to browse for fun things to do.
This is not your normal hobby shop, which the name might lead you to think. It definitely sways toward the craft side and instead of rockets you find yourself knee deep in scrapbooking supplies and childs play. I would suggest a name change and also lowering their prices on stuff, it's quite absurd. Only reason for 3 stars is they do have selection of crafts, if you are into that stuff.
This place is definitely a Davis-esque Vet Center in my opinion. Instead of sticking to traditional techniques, they emply a variety of odd methods such as acupuncture for pet healthiness. Due to these techniques they are on the pricey side and I can't afford to go back, not worth the extra cash. Friendly, just not cheap enough to justify it for my pet.
Although it is a bit more expensive when compared to Hunan and a bit farther away from campus, the food is a different type than Hunan. It's more customary and tastes different, almost more caring. I liked the atmosphere and would definitely recommend it if you change your mind when you are at Sushi Nobu and want Chinese instead.
