This place is definitely an odd business due to its location, you can easily pass it by. However, what this place lacks in selection of popular titles, it makes up for in its service. The staff are incredibly friendly and I've even had to go here for some films for classes because they carry them. Nice place.
Definitely not your typical coffee place in this college town because it doesn't cater toward that crowd. I believe it is more geared toward the local businesses in South Davis, because it is definitely not a feasible study joint. There is no internet, comfy chairs or good tables to sit at for hours. Not my thing.
Their stuff in the shop was way pricey and their service was incredibly lacking. I do not recommend this for those reasons as well as the fact that it is incredibly out of the way for a college student. Who goes to UCD and actually lives out near El Macero? I don't know what audience it actually caters to for this reason.
I've participated in multiple locations of Solano Clinical trials and I am always impressed by their staff and knowledge. They always care more about the patients than their research progress. Great place to make an extra buck if you are a college student too, so be sure to put your name into their hat and you can afford to eat again!
This place is just a small nook but contains many great things inside. I found their selection to not be as great and updated as Borders, but their prices on most items are actually cheaper. They also have many discontinued books for quite cheap you can't find elsewhere. Two thumbs up for that. They also have a small supply of CDs and childrens stuff if you are interested in that.
This place is definitely a strange one. I had never been there before a month ago with a roommate, but the experience was nice. Of course, as a poor college student I didn't really approve of many of the prices for items, I don't really care about organic items and I'm definitely not a vegan. Not my type of place, I want cheap bulk.
As far as I know, this is the only place in town that sells any type of bible or Christian supplies short of the popular stuff you might find in Borders. For this reason it might seem a bit pricey, but if you want it now rather than waiting for something to ship online or a drive to Sac, this is the best choice.
Their service can be a bit tempermental in terms of consistency, but their menu does not lack. Their cook is phenomenal and creates great Chinese dishes that aren't Americanized by adding too much MSG to create flavor. I normally don't like fake meat, but vegetarian stuff here is pretty amazing.
This place really wasn't worth my time when for a couple dollars more I could get much more food at any of the Japanese buffets places in town for lunch. Service was decent, but the food was really lacking for the price. Do not recommend this place.
If you don't want to travel to Dixon because you won't need a 24 hour study place, this is your joint. Chamonix offers coffee and service until 11pm and they also offer a hotspot for wireless connection so you can study and browse the internet. Very cozy place but can get very crowded at certain times.
