If you need something custom made from acrylic, this is the place to come. Whether you need custom cutting or laser engraving, they will meet your needs. The owner oversees quality control to make sure each product is the best it can be.
If you are in need of religious items, this is the place to come. They offer a wide variety, from books to crucifixes, rosaries to jewelry, and so much more. After you have made your purchase you can have your item blessed by one of the Carmelite fathers.
Monches has quality garden stock with very healthy plants. They also have a great "gift shop". Gift shop hardly seems the proper term since they have such a wide variety on merchandise. They carry collectibles, candles, and home decor items, and inventory changes somewhat with the seasons. While Monches is a bit out of the way, it's worth the drive (a beautiful drive near Holy Hill).
The Phoenix Gold Mine has been in operation for years, and is still a working mine. Tours review the history of mining and mining techniques, both traditional and modern. After touring the mine each participant has the opportunity to try panning for gold in the creek, and you can keep what you find. My son found some gold dust and a very small nugget. Be sure to bring a jacket for the mine tour because the mine temperature is 45-50 degrees year round.
Edie Bestul Hair Studio is a hair salon where the personal touch is a priority. The owner provides all hair car services herself, and she takes pride in being among the best. Whether it's a cut, color, foil, or up-do, you won't be disappointed.
My parents moved in here eleven years ago, and my aunt and uncle a year ago. Since my parents moved here they have never had such freedom or such good care. They are more physically active than in the past because of all the wonderful programs offered. When health concerns arise, there is always a nurse on staff to assess the situation and help them decide the best course of action. The food is excellent. I have eaten here on many occasions. My parents and aunt and uncle are so happy here that my husband and I have talked about looking at this as an option in 25 years or so.
This restaurant serves the finest breakfast I have had anywhere. They have a broad menu with both traditional and more exotic items. The omelets and pancakes are phenomenal. If you're coming here, arrive early. People who come later may wait up to 45 minutes for a table, but it's worth it. The prices are high, but so is the quality. It's a nice treat on occasion.
I have purchased watches here for the last year or so. The watches are less expensive than at other retailers for the same item. They don't have a very large selection, but if you aren't overly particular you will find sufficient alternatives. Also, if you buy a Seiko they will provide a lifetime of free battery changes.
I was out at Bristol Oaks golf course this week and was pleased at the course condition. Some courses in this area are pretty rough between the heavy rains and periods of drought we've had, but that is not the case at Bristol Oaks. The greens are in very good condition, and the fairways are good, too. The course has a lot of trees on either side of the fairways, but not too much long grass. They have a nice clubhouse with a very small proshop. Golf carts are in very good condition. Generally a very nice place to golf.
Shoop Park golf course is worth the drive. A small nine hole course on the shores of Lake Michigan, it's a great course on hot days when you can usually enjoy the lake breezes. The course has two par fives, four par fours, and three par threes. The longest hole is about 475 yards. They have a small club house and snack bar.
