My girlfriend, daughter and I headed to Jackson Hole, Wy the end of September. We did the white water rafting, horseback riding and tram to the top of the mountain. Very quaint little town. We hit the main street for some shopping. Found Belle Cose to be a place to find unique gifts. The have all kinds of housewares, knick knacks, and they had Christmas items. We picked up a few things, you know touristy stuff.
Sitting in a saddle when it is not on a horse and a drink in your hand is fun. The Cowboy bar has a live band, cowboys and cowgirls willing to teach you the two step. The bar walls are done in beautiful woods. The grains and burls are magnificient. Not a dancer, then grab a pool table. The stafff friendly and looked like it was a local hang out.
When my husband and I go to Manhattanwe hit Luzzo's. The best great Italian pizza. Luzzo's serves neapolitan style pizza with mozzarella di buffalo that they import from Italy. Not sure what other pizza place in New York that has the same. Neapolitan dishes but once you see the coal-fired oven at the far wall. Coal-burning ovens are used to get even ckked crust. The tomato sauce tasted home-made and sweet. We will be heading back to Luzzo's next time in New York.
Looking to expand your wardrobe while on Honolulu? Check out Local Fever. The clothing is not too touristy, it's fashionably cool, and very trendy styles. We were staying on the main strip and my oldest daughter had a fashion faux pas and needed some very quickly. We spotted Local Fever and found something instantly. the prices were reasonable. Not the best made and best material.
But it worked and was cheap!
If youn like Korean food this is the place in Honolulu. I am a big fan of their spicy chicken, king kalbi and of course soondubu. We usually order the "original" beef and pork soondubu.
My husband likes "spicy" for his. The chigae is thick and hearty, and full of tofu. It comes with a raw egg that you can drop inside to make your chigae even thicker. Liked it. A word of advice, get there early if you're driving, McCully shopping center parking is tough to find a spot.
They have great Knick Knacks here! They have so many cute items that make great gifts.(Like we need more knick knacks!) They have tons of specialty sauces, rubs, scents, and teas.
exclusive to this store on the island. The majority of the stuff are from Oprah's O-list. They carry Dean & Deluca, L&L tote, SIGG water bottles, and much, much more. You will find a gift for any occasion.
I never thought that shaved ice could be so delectably delicious!
It has a finer consistency than some other places we have been to.
They have a great variety of syrups. Passion fruit is my fav. My husband likes the rainbow. 3 different flavors. Their Azuki Bowl is a generous portion. You can add mochi balls and lilikoi cream. Ice cream and toppings also available. I usually just get my fine consistancy shaved ice.
My family have been going to Hawaii for the pst 25 years. When ever we go to Waikiki we always make a stop at the Honolulu Cookie Co. My favorite ones are Chocolate Macadamia, White Chocolate Kona Coffee, Pineapple Macadamia, Triple Chocolate Macadamia. The cookies melt in your mouth. Ask for a sample.
Honolulu Cookie Co. ships anywhere in the U.S. Check out their their website.
The best burgers in Woodside. Small but delicious. The banjo band is awsome. They even serve the local's wine for Woodside area. The only draw back would be the lines on the weekends. Prices are well within your budget. Staff very friendly.
Japanese food is wonderful at Hakone, they offer a wonderful creative authentic menu. They have the Teishoku - complete meal buffet style. Sushi/seafood/Japanese food. Small and cozy restaurant. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The sushi and sashimi was fresh and delicious. It is a bit pricey. You really shoul d try this great restaurant.
