Great food here. The place is packed - get there early. The sandwiches are stacked with fresh, hot meat. The pastrami is lean and superb. In a strip mall, so the people coming aren't there for the decor. They are there for piles of awesome food.
This store is chock full of gifts and home decor items. Tons of selection. Very nice quality goods and items that will go great in any style home. You have to go more than once because guaranteed you will never see everything in one trip. A great location because there is plenty of parking.
Wonderful fish and chips. Great burgers. Nice breakfasts - try their chicken fried steak or Ed's Benedict. Good "American food." Very reliable, flavorful food. Clean & efficient; even have a drive through. Large indoor kids play area.
Nice, well-stocked store with well-trained staff. They have an excellent stock and are really able to help you make the right decisions for the application. Run by locals who have been in Hood River and in the business for what seems like forever. So you can be assured that you are going to get an honest opinion and a good deal.
Great selection of things like whimsical pet-related items - clocks and stuffed toys, etc. Big supply of collars and leashes and healthy foods & treats. Pet-friendly and helpful, knowledgeable staff.Pros: Good hours. Cons: Downtown location, so might be hard to find a place to park
This is one of those stores that has a huge selection of a little bit of everything. No lumber, unfortunately. If you are looking for this specific fairly uncommon type of screw, they may not have it. But if you are looking for any of the more generic types, they have it. They have orchard & farm supplies, a good supply of irrigation products including landscaping supplies. They have fencing and small equipment and hay and straw and well, just a supply of general hardware. The people who work here are very eager to help and very knowledgable.
One of the things I like is if they don't have it, they know who does. And are also willing to order what you need.
Very inexpensive and tastey Sunday brunch buffet including waffles & omelettes made while you wait. Beautiful grounds - the front has a beautiful woodland setting. Then you overlook a beautiful gorge view while you dine on very good food at an excellent price.
The service is very good here.
One of our favorite sushi places because of the variety, the portion size, and the flavor. Lots of sushi (and they will make you up a non-menu special if they aren't too busy). They have non-sushi items for those of us not sushi-inclined that are excellent. It's a small place in a little strip mall, but definitely good food and service.
We love it here & so do our animals. they definitely treat them all as if they were their own and go that extra mile to help you make decisions - both the easy ones and the very hard ones. They do both domestic and farm animals here, which is nice - you don't need a separate vet for your farm animals. And they have a loading chute for horses & cows - we've been to vets that didn't have good accomodations for this. They will always find a way to squeeze you in if there's an emergency, another huge plus for us.
We get almost all our ranch supplies here because they have a great selection. Lots of different feeds for all sorts of critters including hay & alfalfa (though they do run out of these periodically, and we have to go elsewhere). The have back yard bird supplies - different kinds of high quality bird feeds & feeders. And a big selection of dog & cat foods, including some specialty brands. They aren't open Sundays, so you have to plan weekend trips carefully. The guys who work there are always glad to help you haul stuff to your car. They periodically have customer appreciation days with sale prices and free food & drinks. Plus they offer a discount based on how much product you have purchased during the year. For us, we start getting a discount pretty darn fast and it increases as time goes by.
