The Spirit of Philadelphia was surprisingly a really good party venue. My organization went there for a semi-formal, and although admission for college students, it was definitely worth it. They were very accommodating: they gave us roughly half of the top floor of the boat. The entertainment was good and very interactive, but the only problem is that the dance floor was small, which is understandable because it is a boat. Their catering was delicious, and I am in love with their chocolate mousse cake! I recommend planning a party here.
I was just craving bubble tea and I happened to come across this stop. Pearl's Korean BBQ has fairly good bubble tea, nothing out of the ordinary. As the name implies, they also sell foods, such as bento boxes.
My friend and I rented a canoe here. The staff were really helpful and made sure that you were fulfilled the safety protocol before you went on your way. Basically, you have a choice of two paths, and they're all really long - really worth your money. You can also rent single or double kayaks here. All in all, I recommend this place just to relax or for a date :] Just don't stand when you're on a canoe!
The Browns Mills Dental Center is centrally located in the city, so it's very convenient. Dr. Sadiq Asad is an excellent dentist; I normally hate the idea of getting my teeth examined but his friendliness makes it bearable :] The hygienists are very proficient in their work, and scheduling an appointment here isn't hard. The only thing I don't like about this place has nothing to do with the service; their parking lot is so small and it is very hard to get into and to get out of.
My family has been going to Midtown Cleaners for almost 7 years. This laundromat has recent models of washers and dryers, and the owners are really friendly. They offer the typical dry cleaning and tailoring service, and you can also give up a little more money to have them do your laundry instead.
It smells so good every time I enter into Gertrude Hawk Chocolates. This chocolate store has a lot of products that make wonderful gifts, like boxed sets that are especially good during the holidays. Gertrude Hawk also sells delicious fudge, and many of their flavors are seasonal. The prices may seem a little high, but this store also has $2 bars of chocolate, ranging from plain to coconut raspberry, almonds, etc.
The Gertrude Hawk Chocolates in Quakerbridge Mall has good customer service.
They are many other Napoleon's Bakery locations, but my family and I went here most often. This Napoleon's Bakery is located in the Sears of the Ala Moana mall, and even though it's small, it still offers a big selection of baked goods, from cakes and cookies to fresh bread and signature. All of the foods in the bakery are made daily.
If you're just taking a vacation in Hawaii, I recommend you stop at the Cookie Corner and bring some gourmet cookies home. Cookies that come from here are very rich and buttery, and they have a great selection of cookies. I always get the shortbread cookies dipped in milk chocolate, but they also offer milk and white chocolate. Cookie Corner is a bit expensive, but the quality of the cookies are worth it :]
I love Curry House! With their 25 toppings, the number of curry combinations is endless. You can get mild to very spicy sauce, and you can have chicken, beef, and vegetables mixed into your curry. I definitely recommend the croquettes and the chicken cutlet curry. This Curry House is right in the Ala Moana Mall, so you can stop in after a hard day of shopping.
Ulta has an expansive selection of beauty care products for hair and body, all of them world-class brands. Although I am a fan of the store, I was not too happy with the salon service. I had just gotten a trim at Ulta to test them out, and I was still charged $40; I don't think it was worth it, and it was obvious that my stylist wasn't very good with customer service. Regardless, I recommend Ulta for their beauty products.
