After receiving very bad service from various drycleaning services in my area, I discovered MY Dryclean a few years ago and now refuse to go anywhere else. It seems to be family run. No matter who waits on you, they are friendly and always greet you with a smile. I have had alterations done, as well as cleaning and I am very satisfied and proud to recommend them. They are in a strip mall that includes Smart N Final and Chuckie Cheese so the parking can be a challenge, but it is well worth it.
A new buffet has recently opened at the previous location of The Red Lobster, (corner of Norwak and Imperial in Norwalk). Many restaurants have come and gone at that location in the past years. Let's hope that this one is here to stay. We could not believe the selection available when we went for dinner on a week night. They have good 'ol down home cooking! With such a vast selection, it is easy to overeat, so be careful. We were so stuffed by the end of our meal that we didn't have room to try the desserts. This is not your usual buffet, give it a try. The only drawback was that drinks had to be purchased separately.
I like the Polly's Pie restaurant on Norwalk Blvd at the 91 fwy in Cerritos. They have a generous selection on their menu for whichever meal you are interested in. They are famous for their "Backburner Soup". Polly's bakes their own buns and rolls which are really good. The rolls melt in your mouth! There is huge selection of pies. When ordering cream pies, you have a choice of meringue or whipped topping. The fresh fruit pies are very tasty. I like the crust on Polly's Pies, much better than that "other pie restaurant" with the big name. If you watch the local papers, there are often coupons for special price meals. It is a great place to stop for pie and coffee or a complete meal anytime!
This has been a favorite place of mine for many years. I have eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinners there. I have also attended birthday parties and baby showers there, which the restaurant can easily accommodate. It is nice to eat outside on the patio. Heaters are funished when the weather is chilly. My favorite meal there is breakfast, and I highly recommend their specials. If shrimp is one of the ingredients in a menu item, there are always plenty of nice big shrimp included. The shrimp and spinach or shrimp and asparagus omelets are out of this world! My boyfriend especially likes their steak and egg breakfasts. Portions are generous and doggie bags are often necessary. I also love their chicken and dumplings which are a special on Tuesday nights. Their peach tea is really unique and is the only beverage that I order. The same employees have been there for years and are courteous, friendly and efficient. I don't think you can go wrong with a meal at Off Street. They seem to do their own baking and use fresh ingredients.
Our first visit was in August of '08 to celebrate a birthday. We were very pleasantly surprised at the number of choices on the menu. Two in our group ordered the pork chops and agreed that it would be very hard for them to ever order anything else from the menu. The chops were thick and juicy and soooo...tender! The rest of our party enjoyed their entrees as well. They serve warm sourdough rolls prior to your meal arriving. We enjoyed those and tried not to fill up on the rolls before our meals arrived. All meals were adequate servings for each of us. Everyone agreed that we wanted to return to enjoy more of their selections. We have returned a few times since then. In fact, when we speak of going to dinner, my boyfriend always mentions Mr. V's. The staff has always been efficient and friendly. One of these days I will save room for one of their desserts and we want to try the early bird specials.
For lunch or dinner, this is THE place to get great Chinese food. I highly recommend it. Everyone that I have introduced to Kung Pao has returned on their own. They have a complete menu of great dishes, but I highly recommend their Kung Pao Bowls! A great meal at a low price. You can't beat the price of their lunch specials which start at $5.00. Their full menu is available to eat in or take out. In the summer, I like to get a "take out bowl" to enjoy at the Norwalk Concert in the Park on the City Hall lawn, which is across the street from the restaurant.
Their guarantee says it all! "If you get a bad pizza from any pizzeria, bring it to us and we will replace it with a free, delicious pizza." You can't beat that! I have been eating lunches and dinners at Agrusa's for several years and have always been happy with the food and the service. I can't recommend a favorite dish, because I like everything that I have eaten there. Many of my friends agree that this is the "hole in the wall" kind of place that serves up a great meal! For Valentine's Day, call ahead and order a heart-shaped pizza. Very unique and yummy!!
Chris has moved her shop to 3960 Studebaker Road in Long Beach. Right down the street from the Woodruff location, same phone number! This is a great place! Chris and her staff are very friendly and helpful. It is fun to see what your creative juices will produce when you sit down to paint a ceramic. Even if you are not artistic, it is fun and relaxing to paint. The girls in the shop are anxious to help you get started and are there to help throughout your painting experience. This is good if you want to do something on your own or have a party. It is a good way to create a personal gift for someone or something to use for yourself. I can't say enough good things about this shop! For more info, look them up on the web: www.paintnglaze.com
I have used this service for several years and have been completely satisfied. Their rates are competitive and the service is great. Each year they send a form to fill out with basic information that helps you remember what information is needed from you . They make an effort to get your taxes prepared quickly and E-file so that you can get your refund ASAP. Give them a call! Ask for Sue or Charity.
