Pretty sure that the title says it all. If you live nearby (I'm talking to you Morgan Street apartment dwellers--) you can call this your own personal Peach Pit. WhatEvs. You get the idea. You want a greasy burger? You got it! Breakfast is totally good. But this is strictly for the walking class. And for that alone it might get bumped up to 5 stars.
A cool guitar store with tons of high end gear. A somewhat limited supply of used or vintage gear, but they carry a great stock of great new gear. Fat Sound was an early adapter of Dr. Z, if that tells you anything. The staff seems to be a bit arrogant at first, but once you engage them, they come around.
This is a great place for a date, Cozy and cosmopolitan. The food changes over the years but is still outstanding. And a great place to meet up after work for some cocktails and casual food. But don't drink too much because you still have to make down the stairs when you leave.
This place has great one of a kind finds. Whether you want a nice artistic calender or a small stocking stuffer type gift to round out the bounty...You can find it here! They have interesting, one-of-a-kind item that you won't find in your everyday mall visit. It's worth checking out.
This place has the best deserts. Milkshakes with fresh peaches? that seems criminal and Southern. Worth a trip, especially if you live in the area. Just a short walk with your dog and you're both fat and happy at the other end of your walk!Small hole in the wall places should get more attention.
Sure it's just past the overpass and doesn't seem like much, but check all of those cars at breakfast and lunch. Yep, it is maybe the last of a driving breed. Great southern country cooking. Great, great greens. Omelets are perfect. The chicken is great. And if you order the club sandwich, the cook might just come out and give you a piece of her mind.
No matter who you are, Ryan (shop owner/hairstylist) will do you right. I've seen him do the funkiest cuts and I've also seen him do an elder lady's set and style. He gives respect to all. It is a coooool shop but no matter who you are, he cares. He listens. And he DELIVERS. Don't mess with the rest. Go to Ryan. (PS - Everyone else i held to his standards; if not better). This is a no brainer. They also give you free trims in between haircuts. They are the best!
Hey. truth be told, Austin is not a great pizza town but Frank and Angie's has pretty good pie. And the lasagna is really good. All of the pasta is good too. I guess it's just a good downtown Italian joint. Jumpin' and lunch time, and that is always a good sign.
Migas - The way you want them...fried goodness with the best cheese in town! Migas have tomatoes, onions, peppers...You can even add bacon if you're feeling decadent. I can also attest to the veggie options. Very good. Sunday has Gospel Brunch. Please to Enjoy.(PS - Get tacos every Saturday your team is playing - it will guarantee a win)
Not for dieters, unless your doing Atkins. The brisket is really good, and the sausage is dang good too. The beer is on ice, which is always appreciated. and you get sides of baked beans and slaw. Not too much in terms of air conditioning, but the beer, again, is on ice, so think of that as old school A.C.
